I am not sure if this will ever be settled, but there is more data showing that even when you take the additional CO2 emitted when building an EV into account, the EVs are much cleaner over their life cycles than ICE-powered cars using the same accounting. The whole analysis seems hypocritical to me. Hardly anyone does this kind of accounting for ICE-powered cars/ Oil exploration, extraction, shipping, refining, and distribution releases huge amounts of CO2, but with ICE-powered cars, all you typically hear about is the CO2 Grams/KM emitted by the car itself.

Exactly Fabulist... if anyone counted the components of getting crude out of the ground to gasoline distribution for a ICE -- there is NO comparison.

It is a diversionary tactic.
