I came home from a long trip last week to find another gift from Fisker, a bamboo plated memory stick loaded with documents covering the various incentives available to EV owners in the US and some other countries.

I am a little surprised that a company with such a strong environmental ethos would ship a physical piece of hardware with information that may already be out of date instead of just sending an email with the link to the live documents.

Also, given the fact that Fisker is not even yet listed on the IRS list of eligible vehicles for the EV tax credit, having the application form is not all that helpful.

Yes, I have mentioned before that Fisker is behind in getting the Karma listed when other companies that don't even have a real car have their car listed as being eligible for the credit. For them to send us a form for the credit is the epitome of having "the cart before the horse." I am sorry for saying this, but they must have some real idiots working for them. Sure would be nice to get a no-nonsense answer from anyone as to why this is but it seems that Fisker simply wants to hide behind its dealers. Perhaps a FAQ on the newly formed website would be most appropriate to address the concern of people asking questions.

I don't know this for a fact, but I would assume that EPA certification is a precondition to being put on the IRS list.

I'm sure you can just reuse the memory stick. They are nice to have handy, and this one sounds stylish.

I find that doubtful because some of these companies cars don't even exist as a finished prototype let alone a production car.

Yeah, I couldn't believe the flash drive either (BTW, it's only 4GB and it's not really worth having around with the other dozen I have gotten in the past from random places...). Shouldn't the time that's being spent on this, be spent on other things? Like maybe answering people's questions?!!?

So I am going to take back some of the stuff I said about Fisker sending out this memory stick because I was looking for the EVSE rebate form on line and was having a hard time finding it but then I remembered the stick and found the information on it immediately. So I guess there was a use for it after all.
