I found this video in my random meanderings on YouTube. It has some pretty close shots of the interior and exterior of one of the demonstrators (I think) and you can hear the infamous lawnmower engine noise made by the engine with the (hopefully) old mufflers that are supposed to be replaced in the production cars. I don't recognize the license plates, but it is definitely not in the US.

Enjoy!

I cannot imagine that this is the sound of the Karma. It doesn't sound like an electric engine (if that makes any noise at all) and it doesn't sound like an internal combustion engine. When the car is running idle and up to 30 mph, the external speakers will be producing a sound to warn pedestrians (called 'Tron'), but that doesn't sound like this racket at all.

You can hear it in this short video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MF_hOR0cXS8

And you can hear it in this video, plus the whistle of the ICE-turbo at the end: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrODN099c8g&NR=1
I personally love the combination of these sounds.

Believe it or not, this the actual sound of the ICE powering the generator. Some of the first reviewers mentioned the discordant ICE engine noise as the only major flaw of the Karma (see, e.g., http://goo.gl/NuwrE) and new mufflers in the production cars is supposed to take care of it. This car must be one of the original test cars since it sounds really terrible.

I do believe the Tron sound is only for Stealth Mode, but I could be mistaken. As for the ICE noise, regardless of how it does sound, the magazine test drivers said it was excessive and Fisker said they would fix it in the production models. So, that being said, unless someone has a video of the ICE in action at Monaco, there is no critical statements regarding the sound of the ICE on a production model.

The Tron sound is just for EV mode at very low speeds (sub 15 MPH, I think) to protect pedestrians in parking lots, for example.

The video I posted was the only example of the ICE I found . I have already placed my order (like many other in this forum) and expect to buy one of these if it lives up to the promises. I also fully share your hope that the Fisker engineers are spending some of this delay time addressing the noise problem, along with the other issue noted by the testers that the electrical motors in the pre-production cars were only capable of producing 320 HP and not 400+ HP as specified (http://goo.gl/DywNa). After waiting for 3+ years, I certainly want this car to be everything that has been promised and more and will reserve judgement until the first test drive during the road show in Late July.
