the last time someone downgraded it, it dropped about the same amount in one day then returned the next.

and then soared even further
The Tesla Model S is the only mass market EV that I am aware of that has had a HV battery fire on public streets.
The downgrade more has to do with the price has gone through the roof than anything else. If you mean the stock is losing ground, sure. But car market share, it's full steam ahead. If you check your stocks portfolio this week, I bet everyone of them is "losing ground" due to the Government disaster.

It was on fire because it was in an accident, it didn't just exploded on its own.
heres what happens when metal things go into Li-Ion batteries

Dam it.. already :dodgy:
So he is not accusing the owner of being a felon and deliberately causing the accident and the fire? What in the world is he thinking? :D

If you are a recent Karma owner and don't get the joke, read this.
So far Tesla is batting 1000 for their customer support. Lessons FA should have learned early on.

Briefly, during the LaSorda administration, FA support was firing on almost all cylinders, which brought us the 510 software, fan recall, etc. Regrettably, it did not last long.

I got burned by that once, but not twice.

Pun intended.

or maybe Telsa leaned from FA mistake and his PR folks reading our FB decided otherwise ;-)
his legal folks need to tell him hes not supposed to use the term "fire" or "firewall"
looked like it was a pretty epic "thermal event" though.
classis Elon, throw rocks "Had a conventional ... far worse ..." see below

"... Had a conventional gasoline car encountered the same object on the highway, the result could have been far worse. A typical gasoline car only has a thin metal sheet protecting the underbody, leaving it vulnerable to destruction of the fuel supply lines or fuel tank, which causes a pool of gasoline to form and often burn the entire car to the ground. In contrast, the combustion energy of our battery pack is only about 10% of the energy contained in a gasoline tank and is divided into 16 modules with firewalls in between. As a consequence, the effective combustion potential is only about 1% that of the fuel in a comparable gasoline sedan...."

guess someone should show Elon the video Ira posted on battery fires ;-))

Yes, the subjunctive is the apologists' best friend. :D
Elon's damage control was admirably. But the fact remains that if a lithium battery is comprised in an accident we're screwed. My wife will still drive in our Karma but not in a Tesla. I told her to give it some time and I hope she'll get over it.
