This is starting to sound like the story of the plagues of Egypt, but if this report is correct, it looks like the work at Valmet may have come to a halt just as the production was getting under way. I saw this headline on a blog and tracked it back to what appears to be the official website of one of the unions invloved, the ICEM.

Here are the most pertinent quotes from the article:
First paragraph:

ICEM affiliate Ammattiliitto Pro, the trade union of salaried workers in Finland, and Metalliliitto, the country’s Metalworkers’ Union, began a first wave of strike action this morning across Finland. Some 32,000 workers – 25,000 metalworkers and 7,000 represented by Ammattiliitto Pro – are on full work stoppages at 45 targeted companies.
... and further down near the end:

Among just some of the 45 corporations that saw strike action taken against them this morning at 06h00 were ... Valmet Automotive, ... .
The negotiations have apparently been going on since April and most of the issues have been hashed out but apparently there are enough disputes to merit industrial action.

And you guys thought my U-Boat comment was ridiculous. Hard to blame Fisker for this one, but seriously, can this company catch a break here?

Yeah, I read that this morning too. I interpreted it as something that was already over. The story I read seemed to imply that this was part of the most recent production delays. Not sure tho. Is this a *current* strike?

Here's the story I saw: http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2011/10/under-the-gun-fisker-karma-production-was-delayed-by-strike-at-valmet/

@Brian: The post is dated October 21, so you may be right about it being over already. Let's hope so.

Damn Scandinavian socialists. Might as well have built the car in Detroit under the AFL/CIO.
Seriously! Who strikes after they get the raise they demanded? I would love to join that union.
