Has anybody used the Sterling BMW CSP in Newport Beach to service their Karma, and if so, what was your experience? I am very happy with Alex Pop, but Sterling is a couple of blocks away from where I live. Thanks!

You got me with that thread title. Sounded like the thread was dedicated to superb (i.e, sterling) reviews for a CSP. :D

LOL, that's what I thought, too.
The only problem bringing your car to a new CSP is they don't nearly have the experience that Alex has. I've heard horror stories customers bringing their cars to new CSP centers
I had an appointment with them, but a couple of days before I was supposed to bring it in they called me and said their Karma tech decided to take vacation. I had to reschedule and haven't been there yet.

I may end up going to Alex and paying for the software update..........
correction to my previous post, the tech got scheduled for training.

Hi UfoJoe,

It would be great if you could share your service and repair experiences at http://karma.repair/

I'm hoping the site will prove to be a valuable resource for those who are not on the buzz.

Why a separate site? We have the Karma Automotive site, and Fiskerbuzz, what am I missing?

Hi Ever1,

On karma.repair we can rate the service along with testimonials. Karma Automotive's would not do this, and I don't think there is a way to do it on the buzz. There may be some independent repair shops other than Karma CSPs that could use some ratings. We've had an independent shop in the past that was very bad. There a few Karma owners who would be better off if a site like this existed.

Thanks for the response, that makes perfect sense!
I dropped my Karma off today at Sterling BMW. I pulled into the very nice service area and they promptly came out to greet me and asked how they could help me. I told them I was there for the software update and warranty inspection for my Karma. The rep disappeared into the office. He came back a short time later and said " the body shop handles the Fiskers" and told me to go around the back of the dealership and pointed me to the small shack at the far right end of the lot. Got that stepchild kind of feeling. A young lady came out and inspected the car for damage. I signed the work order and stated I brought it in for the software update and warranty inspection. I asked for an approximate date I could expect my car to be ready and she said approximately a week.
Hopefully things go well. Definitely wasn't the upscale experience I was expecting.
A week would be lightning speed. Mine has been at the DFW CSP for the same service for 4 months. I'm still waiting for the RDM fix to complete the warranty compliance requirement.
Hello UfoJoe,

Would you mind telling me who is "Alex Pop". Thanks
Alex just did my oil change today, plus my software 520 the radio does not save my stations setting, usb and bluetooth doesn't connect either. Alex reprogrammed the software and now everything is back to normal.

Alex Pop is the owner of Elite Motors of Orange Country, formerly a Fisker CSP until the company inexplicably decided to part ways with him earlier this year. Alex is extremely professional, does good work, seems to be fair with prices, and reliably either answers the phone promptly or phones back within a short timeframe. He's excellent, and I recommend him highly.
