On a whim, I decided to look a local Karma for sale, and was taken back at how nice it looked in person. I'm kind of on the fence, due the number of other options, but I figured I'd register here to at least be able to see the pictures.

The dealer refused to let me drive it, or even take me for a ride, so that was a bit of a letdown, but maybe another will pop up locally. Does anyone on the Eastside ever bring theirs to [email protected]?

Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will get a whole spectrum of responses from the members here about how the Karma drives and handles, and many of the members either currently have, or have had, high-end cars that they can compare to their Karma to give you an idea.

Have you driven an electric car before? What is, or has been, your favorite car? This should give the folks here an idea about what information may be useful to you.

Nope, I can't say I've ever driven any modern electric car. In college, I got to drive a very early Ford Ranger electric prototype, but it was only for a few miles. Probably not quite representative of a Karma.

The Karma is on the radar having recently bought a car for my wife. I wanted her to get a Tesla, but she wouldn't have any part of it, and instead wanted an E Class. I wasn't fond of it, but she was hung up on that emblem. We actually had one ordered, but week after week she realized she wasn't really excited about it. I finally got her to look at other options, and she ended up with Maserati Ghibli SQ4, which she immediately fell in love with.

I've been happily daily driving a pickup for the last decade, with a Lotus Exige as my play car. Having borrowed the Maserati a few times, I'm starting to think that I might like having something nice as a daily. My original plan was to replace the truck with an equivalently valued old BMW or something. Of course then I got into several rounds of the "Yeah, but for just a little more, I could have...." game, which brings me here.

Welcome

Welcome Wrecked Em.

If you base your decision solely on the looks of the Karma, you'll be hard pressed to find another car that beats it.

Regardless of the looks, be sure to have someone like Harley Guy or Lormax provide some expert advice. I was lucky to find a car near Lormax and I paid him for a formal inspection of the car. IMHO, it's money well spent, especially if you can't get complete service records and history of the car.

Just curious, what kind of dealer doesn't allow test drives?

Good luck with your decision!
