Back in March a thread was started to show off our real-world MPG figures over a meaningful distance. The idea was that while it's easy to experience superlative MPG over a short duration, by keeping track over a significant amount of driving we could provide useful and realistic experiences. The original idea was to post your mileage after 1000 miles of driving. That original thread is here:

That thread is now locked, so I thought I'd start a new one to carry on the tradition, but with a twist: What I would like is for each of us to post a photo or MPG information when they hit the 1000 mile milestone, and then go back and edit your post with additional photos and info as you hit successive 1000 mile milestones. That way not only will we be able to maintain a record of realistic figures, but we'll be able to see how they trend over time.
Since I hit the 2000 mile mark today on my trip odometer, allow me to be the first:
1000 miles, May 1, 2012:
2000 miles, July 28, 2012:
Needless to say, 153 MPG over 2000 miles is pretty fantastic. Forget all of the talk about EPA estimates and methodology; those are all approximations. I'm getting over 150 miles to the gallon in the real world, and it's been months since I've been to a gas station!
