Hi guys; I have an annoying rattling noise that starts as soon as the car moves even at very very low speeds. It seems to come right from behind the dash in front of the driver from the instrument panel or behind that panel. It even seems to be from the steering wheel. I have held down various parts but can't get the noise isolated. My car is an Eco Chic so no leather to cause rubbing or clicking. The noise I have is both at low and high speeds even on flat super smooth roads, going forwards or in reverse!!. It's more like a clicking noise than a rattle. Any ideas? It drives me nuts.

It's not like lugs at all and the clicking is there even at slow speed and when the car is moving straight. It sounds more like it's coming from the glass at the front like the glass is tight fitting or something and rattles, etc. More annoying than anything. No functions are affected and turning up the stereo deadens it but sometimes it's nice not to have the stereo on and then it's a pain of a rattle from the glass area right in front of the driver. Joe: is yours from the glass area or does it sound like it is?

Yes, I know what you mean. Sometimes sounds like a machine gun, lol. Sometimes it is less, and sometimes more. Which seal are you talking about? The black seal that links the panel or dashboard top to the windscreen? That black seal is floating in the air and does not seem to be fixable, i.e. even if you remove it, does not seem to serve any purpose whatsoever, so I think the rattle is from the glass rattling onto the housing it sits on, and there may be no real solutions except changing glass, which is impractical. This was never there before and just started last night, very strange! Anyone else with something remotely like this guys? It's driving two of your Fisker peers nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The seal I talk about is top end link the panel and windshield I think it may need Adjustment because when I hold the panel the plastic shake noise is gone . The clicking sound is different. I have 2 kind noise for a year already. I almost to be used to it

Oh, OK. I get it. I only have the clicking / rattling noise. Well, I will wait and see if anyone else chimes in with any clever ideas short of taking everything apart, which could even make matters worse.

Not sure if this will help, but I had an annoying rattle that was driving me crazy... after a couple of months of asking passengers to try to narrow down where it was coming from, I was finally able to deduce it was the emergency door pull cover under the arm rest. I just popped it out and back in, no more rattle.

I checked and it wasn't the door pool cover unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Common rattles or clicking Lug Nuts / The dash panel trim close to the windshield the foam between the panel and the windshield is out of place or the clips that hold the panel tight aren't seated all the way into the dash board . That panel gets removed if the dash has to be removed .
Under the hood the cross bars that attached to the strut towers need to be loosen and re tightened .
Under the cowl plate there is an aluminum support plate that is loose .

The 2 most common rattles are from (as @joeni mentioned) the upper dash to windshield filler trim. The long black strip that runs from side to side up against the windshield. Sometimes there are clips missing from it. I have had to do several mods to this panel from adding felt tape to contact points, buffing sharp edges etc.
The other common one is the dash frame rattles below the glove box. This one will drive you nuts when driving as it occurs even on smooth roads and highway. it can become an annoying buzzing at constant speeds. This one's a little more difficult to explain but you say yours is drivers side.
I've had a couple in the area you mention. One was a bracket behind the instrument cluster (again difficult to get apart) the other was inside the steering column, a harness rattling. Either way, you're taking something apart.

Thanks guys. I played with the filler material, the long black strip and its less notceable now. Not gone, but dampened. Will report any improvements over time but taking things apart is not my cup of tea right now. My experience from previous cars that it made matters worse.

My windshield filler trim suddenly started making a lot of noise - creaking and rattling, even on a perfectly flat road. Only happens when cold - if the car has been sitting in the sun a while, then it's quiet.

My question I hope someone can answer, is how do you remove this trim? I'd like to take it apart and see what's happening but I don't want to just plow in and break something.
