Anybody applied a rain-beading product on the roof?
A detailer told me about a product for the windows that works like rain-x but with longer duration: http://www.autogeek.net/rain-repellent.html
I was considering treating the roof as well.

Months ago I had started applying a (similar concept) product sold for use with new glass showers. I did a small area when my wife came out and told me to stop, having read in the owners manual not to apply anything to the roof.

She may have something there: the water seems to have smaller beads on the treated part than on the surfaces I left alone (treated area is front-center of the roof). Anyone know if the glass was treated with something already at the factory?

I did use the rain x product on the front windscreen, the sides and the roof. I started with the spray bottle but had problems with it wiping off, so I switched to the smaller liquid bottle that worked flawlessly. In the rain, you don't need the wipers at high speed and the roof/sides stay cleaner after the rain.
