I bought some stock in A123 Systems a week or two ago when Goldman Sachs upgraded them to a Buy. Unfortunately, I've lost 10% on that already. I guess there just isn't any money to be made in the electric car world... yet.

I'm staying away from all the battery makers because I can't tell which one(s) will eventually win that particular race. Certain unnamed foreign governments *koff*ore*koff*a make it particularly tricky as they are willing to subsidize fairly long-term losses in order to corner the market eventually.

(I've also stayed away from QTWW stock as I don't see their path to profitability for a long while yet, perhaps too long. If they can stick around until the Nina comes out, they may make it yet, provided also that the Nina itself makes it to the "big time" which means Fisker itself must also make it, so I'd prefer to invest directly in Fisker instead.)
