Almost finished product red brake calipers next. I took off stupid muffler and had custom straight pipe exhaust installed. I'll be posting all pictures of everything I changed. Stay tuned!
You thought that 4 cylinder exhaust sound was bad, can't imaging how annoying the engine sound is now! What, no exhaust headers yet? What about a hood scoop? LOL

I wanted a louder more noticble sound wasn't feeling the OEM muffler sound at all. Added a lot of spice to the sound of the car and I love it. For no sound I just switch to stealth mode if my batt is charged. Now I officially have the best of both worlds. Opinion respected by all means. Check out my car in the photo gallery for other pics.

I'm with ufojoe. Lets hear it ;)
Same here. The lawnmower-on-meth sound of the Karma is one of the very few discordant aspects of the Karma's design. Would love to have an option for making the Karma sound better when running the ICE.

Does this change affect any of the emissions of the car or is the impact solely on the sound?

Doesn't change emissions wise since this system was modified post CAT & O2 sensor. "Lawn mower on meth" sound had to go so I kicked it to the curb. I'm rushing on the video just waiiting on my caliper job to be complete. I should have it up this weekend. The rearview mirror is another addition too.

what is that rear view device? does it have on-star?
It's the rearview mirror from the Chevy Camaro. It's wired for onstar on the Chevy mirror but I couldn't get that to work on the Karma it's way to much work trying to figure that out since the OEM Karma mirror had no wire that was intergrated with the radio back to the mirror. I did get the lights to work on the Chevy mirror of course since power was already in the wire harness, also the mirror dims automatically. So unfortunately the onstar doesn't work but the mirror looks way better and adds that level of luxury look since it has a frameless glass look unlike the cheesy OEM mirror the Karma came with. The lighted rearview was a good choice on the switch out. You can order from GM part#13580910 for about $120 remove the one screw plug n play then you'll be good.

Total newb, hoping to pick up my Fisker Karma EcoSport later today.

Just to confirm, though, are you guys talking about the sound of the exhaust in Sport mode, or the whiny sound it makes in Stealth mode when you're going slow? Or are they the same?

When I listen to the whiny sound when parked, to me it sounds more like a guitar playing one chord. Worse, it sounds like someone playing back the guitar from a cassette! I'd love to change that to something awesome; if not a roar, at least give me a G 'n' R riff :)

Yesterdday was a day full of issues on my car...the worst being that my exhaust system now needs a replacement. I suspect the main welds finally cracked. In sport mode, the car sounds like a prop engine plane. I got loads of looks on my long drive...but not for the usual reasons. I know everyone was saying to themselves "I thought that was an electric car???". I'm a bit concerned now about the added heat that areas of the engine compartment are now getting, so I will need to deal with it ASAP. Have there been any additional options to look at for a replacement? If I want to go stock(ish) is the Bosal still the only/best choice? I think mine is the Stillen with the H pattern welds. Also, this straight pipe/dual conversion has me very curious? If it's a durable option, I want to know more. Did you ever post the sound files? Has it held up over a large amound of miles? I'm going to have to deal with this in the coming days and need to know. Thanks in advance.
