This one only has 250 miles. The low mileage strikes me as a liability, but the car is local to me.

The dealer refused a test drive, which also threw a red flag. When I was there, they had the hood up, and some jumper cables attached to what looked like a big ECU. They claimed all updates had been performed, but also mentioned they had accidentally drained, but replaced the 12v battery.

Thanks

Why waste your time looking at suspicious examples when for a few dollars more you can have a Karma like mine without any drama or issues?

Nice looking car, wasn't a fan of the deep ocean initially, but better looking in person. Your link lists it for 70K but they listed on Craigslist for 65K roughly.

As for checking a VIN this is a link that was shared with me. However, for accuracy you may want to check with Lormax, Harleyguy or Fiskerphilly (If misspelled any of this my apologies in advance).

Now I have never had to luxury of seeing the Laguna Blue in person, but all photos point to a very nice looking vehicle. Probably more so than the deep ocean, but again all a matter of preference.

It was sunny in Seattle yesterday and I pulled mine out. I can tell you it is definitely the head turner.
The part they had the cables hooked too is called the APM . Since the Karma doesn't have a alternator the APM is what's used to step down the voltage .

Thanks for the link. I'm still not up to speed on what to look for, but I'm assuming the primary concerns would be if it has soft spline RDM, and whether it has the updated exhaust. I'm assuming that these weren't recall items, and were only updated until demand. Is that about right?

I also wasn't a fan of the color in pictures, but immediately changed my mind upon seeing it. I actually prefer your color though.

About 20,000 reasons come to mind, but ****.... that is one seriously nice looking car.

Is it unheard of to regularly drive these in the rain? I see mentions of water intrusion fixes.
I drive mine in the rain, in Seattle, all the time. No issues with water intrusion. I bought this car to drive it. To avoid gas stations. To feel the outrageous! The Karma is literally one of the best handling, road sensing, and fantastic cars to drive. Period! IMHO! :)
My car is my daily driver. I bought the car to drive it, rain or shine. I bought mine 2 years, 5 months ago and still love it.
I live in South Florida, what I noticed a meet-up we had a few months ago...The cars that were parked outside in the sun for an extended period of time waiting to be sold, seem to have warped weather-stripping at the bottom of the windshield which looses its seal. Mine was fine, and has never had a problem, but I bought mine a couple of years ago, before Fisker closed it's doors, so it wasn't exposed for too long. Since you are in Seattle, you have one of the lowest solar indexes in the country. If your car was originally deliver to Seattle, you probably will not have a problem. Southern States... watch out.
I must admit I was concerned about the water fix with the amount of rain we get here (Seattle). Mainly since our closest service advisor is in CA. At the same time, I travel extensively so that has made it easy to avoid rain driving and it is not the daily driver for me. More like the treat at the end of the week lol.

All and all beautiful car.

Ecodoc - "To feel outrageous" LOL - LOVE IT...
Please forgive my bad grammar, I shouldn't post from my phone without my glasses on.

I could only find 13,012 reasons but maybe my math sucks. Make me a reasonable offer and you might be surprised. :^)

I don't have a dog in this particular hunt, but it seems to me that if you buy @Sandy Eggo's karma in San Diego, you can drive it up to Orange County (a very pleasant and picturesque 90-minute drive) to have @Lormax give it a full inspection and also perform the water seal reinforcement before shipping it home to WA.

Just a thought ...

Lormax inspected my car on his last house-call (to do an oil change) and noted that the water intrusion "fix" had already been done. He also used his laptop to scan for any "warning codes" and the only thing the car has reported is that I've occasionally opened a door while charging the HV battery.

Regardless, I would recommend having either Lormax or Harleyguy do an inspection on any Karma being considered for purchase.
