Hi, have been on the forum since May 2013. Couldn't post, reply, with my old account. This is my new account.
Bought my echosport deep ocean blue Vin# YH4K14AA4CA001838.
Any info on this vehicle would be appreciated. Only problem that wouldn't go away is the reverse exterior bulb failure.

There are no 'bulbs' in the traditional sense for the reverse light, it's an LED bar. Makes me wonder if the car has had a rear end collision perhaps?

Doubtful this car was sold to the OP by a very reputable BMW dealership who completed a pretty significant inspection on the vehicle with the help of the original selling dealer (Schaumberg). I doubt they would have risked their reputation by selling an accident car instead of just wholesaling it.

My car has never been hit and yet my car's rear fog lights, that are on the same light bar as the reverse lights, went out a few months ago. The dealer verified that the LEDs were working but there was no power coming to them and was waiting for further instructions from FA HQ when the big layoff happened. OP may be having a similar problem.

Car was running perfect for a month until the bulb failure indicator. Maybe a loose connector?

Very possible. I wouldn't replace anything until the connector is checked, then the wiring for power going to the light assembly. I'd probably even throw a VCM reflash at it since it's fast.

Same with you Fabulist, I'd have them re-flash the VCM if they haven't already tried it.

What is the best way to pop the rear lower valance? Dont want to break anything trying to pull the soft plastic valance apart.

Hi Lormax,

Thanks for all of the suggestions. The lower valance are held together by 8 or so screws; however, after they are removed, it seems that there are tabs holding it back. I try pulling on it but it wont give. Afraid of snapping these taps and damage the lower valance.
