You are lucky; I can't get her to shut up. :D Maybe it feels intimidated because it does not have a proper English accent.
But why doesn't she speak to me?

fred
Can anyone help me with this, or will no-one speak to me?

Fred
Hi Fredc51,
Can you be more specific? Can you hear the radio and your phone through Bluetooth? Is it the voice commands, Or the GPS?
Hi Steven,

I can hear the radio and the phone comes through but does a very electronic type of buzz, like it has a broken speaker. When I start the Sat Nav, the radio goes quiet, but no directions come through
Fredc51,

If you turn down the volume on your phone, and up the car volume, the phone static should go away. Before I look at my GPS settings, I'm hoping Lormax or HarleyGuy can help. Did you get a copy of the GPS Nav Manual with your car? Also try setting your speed limit warning to see if that will talk to you.

I can't seem to find a link for the nav manual online. Just in case you didn't get the general manual: http://www.fiskeraustria.at/index.php/owners.

Steven
Yes we've got the manual, but I think we've already checked it. I'll do it again and get back to you.

Fred
Hi Steven,

No I can't get the thing to talk to me and can't find anything in the manual to help.

Fred
Sorry for the basic question, but does your Nav show the correct area map? Maybe it just does not know where it is. Also, you mentioned using WAZE, do the directions from WAZE stream properly through Bluetooth to the entertainment system?

Yes to both. The directions show in the display, but no verbal instructions. When I use WAZE it comes through the bluetooth. When I first start of the Nav, the radio goes silent as if something is expected to come through, then nothing.

Fred
Let me check my settings, hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will chime in.
If possible make a U turn lol

Cheers Steven.

Fred
I'd try the standby method of re-flashing the CIU first, then go from there.

Doh! Hw do you do that

Cheers Fred
The Fisker diagnostic software is the only way to re-flash the CIU. I'll PM you with a couple options.
Interesting, my Sat Nav has also started to get glitchy the map screen sometimes displays a white background (which I prefer to the black one).

The CIU utilizes the built in microphone to analyze in-cabin noises. If it hears/detects other navigation system being used in the vehicle, it automatically turns off voice prompts to the CIU built in navigation system so you wouldn't hear duplicate voice prompts. Just kidding. When things are wrong just sell it as a feature right? heh..

Anyways, to OP's original question, it is simply a bad software flash. A reflash of CIU module will resolve the issue.

Regarding the white screen, that is the "day mode" you are seeing. As mentioned before, the navigation and the rest of the CIU are internally completely standalone units. The only communication between the two are touch events from the screen and communication messages. These include "day/night" mode messages. It was determined by Henrik Fisker himself to permanently DISABLE day mode on both the CIU and the DIS (cluster).
The day mode navigation + the night mode CIU can occur when the navigation system goes through an internal reset. (this can happen number of ways depending on which watchdog timer was not kicked). When it resets, it defaults to day mode. Everything would go back to normal after a shutdown and restart (power off the Karma for 2 minutes and restart).

Great information. Is there any way to permanently enable day-mode on the map screen? (i.e. permanently disable the "watchdog timer") I greatly prefer it to the permanent night mode.
