Which different options are available for mounting the front license plate?
As my Karma will be one of the first in my area, I don’t want my dealer to drill holes somewhere after his fancy.

I drove the Karma in FL, where no front license plate had to be installed, so I did not check that part...

As the first Karmas touched the Netherlands month ago, what are your options and experiences for the plates?

Thanks

Stefan, there is a fair amount of discussion in this thread about mounting options for front license plates without drilling holes in your front bumper. These are designed for US plates, but can be easily adapted to hold European plates.

I am currently using a moweraxle bracket that screws into the existing tow hook receiver and it is working fine. It would most likely work with a European plate if you drill holes in your plate to match the four mounting points for US plates.

Fabulist,
I saw that thread, but AFAIK, German law forces me to install the plate in the centre of the car, unless it is impossible by construction...

I also fount these examples: all of the cars have drilled the plates directly into the front bumper... The Netherland's plate has nearly the same dimenson of the German plate...

I’m wondering, if there are other options, as the Bumper will only allow 2 or 3 plate installations, before the holes are worn out.
In Germany, moving to another city will require you to change the plate.
