I am not sure I get the point of these hide-a-plate devices. Do you flip up the plate each time you see a cop? I would think it would be less illegal not to have a plate at all than to have one that can be selectively hidden, for example when approaching a red light camera.

My "no front license plate" tickets have ALL been after being stopped for speeding. Never have I been stopped for a front plate violation alone. Therefore, I would only flip up the plate when being stopped. BTW, it has a remote so it would work off one of the rear view mirror buttons.

I've been pulled over twice for no front plate. Cop was driving the other dirrection on a not too busy road and flipped around to pull me over both times. Got away with a warning and mounted a plate the next day.

I keep the plate up when driving around town and hide it when the car is parked in any area where the front of the car is visible. More times than not there is at least one person staring at the car as I approach it preparing to enter and drive away. The look on their face when the plate pops into view is priceless. The car is so cool most think it's a standard Fisker feature lol
