Mileage/ command center bug

5424 Views 19 Replies 17 Participants Last post by  Richard Carnes
I occasionally get a warning of driver side turn signal fault.
When this happens it wipes out my MPG data and sometimes the trip odometer mileage as well in the command center.

It had not happened in a log time and it had never happened in 628 until yesterday, while on my way to Fisker. First my mpg data disappeared then a few minuets later the trip mileage was also gone.

All three times it has happened I have been in the "energy use" screen.....this may be a coincidence but I'm not sure.

Any one else ever had this happen?

I had the mpg go to zero, but mileage still shows 3000+ and mpg is slowly increasing as I drive I stealth only... It is up to 6 mpg. (real mpg is about 125). I sent a pictur to my dealer with a few other glitches with 6.28 ( which i did not have on 6.15). I think the miss installed a file... But too soon to tell.
I had the same bug - mpg reset to 0 after about 3000 miles on that mileage counter. The reset occurred months after I had 6.28 installed.
I had mine reset to zero at around 6,000 miles. I wonder if there is some kind of reset at 3,000 mile intervals.
I had the same thing happen to me as to Rex, Siliconkiwi and Marswill at around 3500 miles and with 6.28 installed long ago. MPG dropped to 6 (when actual was about 80) but mileage was unchanged.

Dealer checked but did not find any fault or error message.
Good to know I am not alone. Has anyone seen this solved? I suspect the dealer will press reset, and I'll wait until 3000 miles comes up again.
Same here with 6.28, never before, trip B reset mid trip - zero miles and zero MPG. Twice last week, with 6.28 installed 3 weeks ago. AND just passes 6000 miles...coincidence?
Had this happen to me last night, and I watched it happen. I was driving home from a gathering of Fisker owners and prospective owners organized by my dealer. The Command Center was showing 2905 miles and 199MPG for Trip A. I was pleased it would be over 200mpg when I hit 3K. I looked away from the screen and when I looked back it was 2905 miles and 0 MPG.

I'm on 510, so this is an open issue.

It happened to me some weeks ago, but, I'm not looking up this figures quite often, so I don't have exact figures on when this happened.
My Karma was on 6.28 at this time... Now 5.28

Like Brent, I was driving with the energy screen up and saw the mpg go to zero between glances at it. Nothing else was unusual in any way. Also on 510, and at just under 3k miles on that trip counter, 7.5k miles total.
Mileage and MPG went to zero during 510 installation. When I got the car back, it had already happened.
I just got close to 3000 miles and my mpg just reset on its own to 409mpg a 0 miles - has not gone up even after driving several miles?

I think the magic number that causes a reset is 2600.

409 is the magic limit...nobody's car reads higher than 409. It's just some kind of oddball thing in the SW. 409 is basically "infinity". :)
Its too bad Fisker never really gave us good usage stats on efficiency. The MPG calculation is so silly since it assumes miles driven on electricity come from nowhere - it should show what the MPGe rating is in Stealth, what the gas-only MPG rating is, and what the two blended are for a given trip. This way we could see exactly how efficiently we are driving on an apples-to-apples comparison. For example if we get 40 miles using 20kwh of energy, that would give us an MPGe of 67 (not 409!)
mine reset to Zero twice. it is useless as a measurement. I did something much more sophisticated. made record of each fill up of gasoline, date and miles on the odometer. Then I can calculate avg. MPG combined elect. and gas. Not very sophisticated but good enough for me.

FWIW, My Trip B is somewhere just over 2700 miles currently, so the magic number is either higher than 2600 or (and this is my guess) it moves.

I would love to know where some of these arbitrary decisions come from. Why reset the trip meter at ~2600? Why does 409=Infinity?

A while back I made a quick excel tool to do just that and shared it with the forum. You can learn about it and download it from this thread:

I have seen over 2900 before mine reset. I think it's arbitrary, but it seems to happen between 2500 and 3000. I have never seen it not reset and be over 3000.
Mine just reset yesterday at 2966. What's even stranger though (at least to me), is that the MPG automatically "reset" to 3, yetthe mileage is still stuck on 2966. I haven't actually pushed reset yet, but just want to see how long it stays stuck. No big deal, really, as I've used LonePalmBJ's spreadsheet since the beginning.
