My Fisker has been in the shop (when there was one), 20 times in 18 months...three times over 30 days. I sued Fisker under the Texas Lemon Law, but with bankruptcy, they have not even responded to suit. I want to sue the dealer as well, who has refused to service the car since Fisker went dark. My car also, while under warranty, had the entire gas engine replaced. Which did no good as it is today in a permanent LIMP fault mode. I have also paid out of pocket to have the inverter replaced. I am at my wits end, have a car that doesn't drive more than 40 miles, and would love any feedback?

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I'd recommend looking up users Lormax and Harleyguy for technical support.

I imagine some of our other Texas owners can chime in with help as well. I seem to remember that one of the more supportive Fisker dealers was located in Texas?
I don't have any suggestions relating to the Lemon Law. However, you might want to call Lormax to see if he can help you. It would not be warranty, but he might be able to get you a serviceable car for a reasonable price.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems with your Karma, I can't even imagine your frustration. Mine has been trouble free since the latest software, and other issues fairly minor. Good luck in getting some help so you can enjoy the car.
I concur with the suggestions above. You will need an independent assessment of the problems with the car, both for repairing it and for any potential lawsuits, and it would be helpful to have someone like @Lormax to, at least, give you a full report on what's currently wrong with the car and how much a repair would cost. It would be money well spent, IMHO.
Have you contacted Frank Kent Fisker in Ft. Worth? They are still servicing the Karma.
Can you turn the vehicle on in sport mode or does it run only on battery? If the latter may be a bad coupler/major misfire. If they changed the inverter though that would suggest a traction motor power problem which would render the car inoperable.
The scary part is why they changed the engine ? Post the complete Vin maybe we can get some insite on what repairs were done .

There were a few dealers (that I am aware of) that would swap out the complete ICE with generator instead of just the coupler under warranty.

I consulted with a Texas Lemon Law attorney the other day. Dealerships cannot be held responsible, only vehicle manufacturers. Fisker via bankrupcy is protected from liability re: prior manufacturing defects. Basically the lemon law approach is a dead end.
I'm sorry but the whole thing seems bogus (IMHO).

Wow...that's even more work than just doing the coupler once the engine is out.
Sigurd,
Frank Kent in Ft. Worth services Fiskers, but only those purchased from him get free service. The others pay $$$.
Bert, I know. But at least, they will work on them. Since this guy is in Texas, he has just a few options: 1. Take his car to Fran Kent. 2. Fly Lormax out to Texas. 3. Ship his car to Miami for Harleyguy. 4. Limit his driving to 40 miles a day.
If he chose me I'd prefer the car be shipped to my shop as well, actually
Is that just because he lives in Texas? :)
Ship to Harleyguy is what I would do.

Haha! No. Sounds like he has something major to chase down, which could mean a major assembly has to be dropped out of the car. The shop is completely setup for Karma work now, so I'd much prefer a large job like this to be done at the shop.
Netwheel remains silent. I still think it's bogus.

I just learned that Netwheel's issues are the real deal. It just seemed too outrageous to be true. It was a rush to judgment on my part. My apologies!
Touch Screen

When I star my Karma, the touch screen does not turn on.
Any idea how to get work?
