Hi, I need some help.
Today I left home in sports mode with 23 km charge left. I was driving slow for a long time due to traffic jams. Strangely enough the battery charge went from 23km to 13km in about 45 mins while driving all the time in sports mode. Once at 13kms it maintained that charge.

I know it is normal for the car to use up the battery power in sports mode from 80kms to 43kms. But from there on it should maintain the charge.
Any one an idea?

That is pretty unusual... In stop snd go traffic it will borrow at most maybe a mile of electric range before the ice kicks in to recharge

I drove in sport mode in traffic today and it did use up my electric miles, but once the traffic opened up and I was driving at speed for a while, the borrowed miles reappeared. I think it will generate back to the miles remaining at the time of sport mode engaged if the opportunity presents itself, but if it doesn't (ex. you exit and shut the car off) then it won't.

Exactly what Sigurd said. Really slow traffic, the ICE doesn't really get a chance to kick on if you still have battery miles left. Once the traffic opens back up though, you'll see the battery miles come back once the ICE can get going, though it would've only charged back to the 23km point (where you set it to sport mode), not the 43km.

Once the charge began maintaining at 13kms, about how long were you driving for? Did you hit the stealth/sport pedal at all? I'm guessing you are in the Netherlands...do you have the Netherlands software installed?

The last 15 minutes of my trip was at normal speeds but charge did not go up and stayed at 13 kms. I could hear the ICE running. I definitely did not touch the pedal. Yes I do have the dutch software...

Weird... when OC had the 405 closure a few weekends ago and I was stuck in hour+ of very slow stop/go traffic, the most my electric range went down was a mile or so (when I was in Sport mode), then the ICE would kick in even at very low speeds (20 mph) to recharge... that's how I expected it to work. It never borrowed more than that..
