Hi,
I am in a jam. Left my key fob inside my gym bag and slammed the trunk shut. Don't have a spare key to unlock the trunk. Does anyone have a suggestion or solution. Locksmith won't touch the car.

No the key is not to leave the key in the car always keep it in your pocket .
I had reception issues when doing that so I keep it in the front cup holder usually. Maybe I need key implant surgery.
The trunk did not open for me when the key was locked inside. Fortunately, I had the driver's window open a few inches and was able to reach in and depress the trunk release.
Ira, your car was not completely asleep. I had mine powered down overnight and with the trunk release button depressed, it wouldn't open the trunk. Trust me, I had the trunk release, the door unlock, and the power buttons pressed and the car didn't react.

My new fob just arrived and the Subaru/Cadillac/Fisker dealer in Roswell Georgia is able to program it for $65. I will have two fobs then.

Thats more then a fair price to program the key fob .

Was the key fob in the same pocket as your smartphone? I've seen it block the signal from the fob when the fob was on the clear plexiglass with the phone propped on top of it.
Lormax, yes, both the Fob and the I-phone were in the same pocket.
Just had my new key fob programmed. Looking for uncut mechanical key insert. The metal key insert didn't come with the new Fob.

At this point, not available. The only way to get the metal key inserts was by ordering a new lock cylinder. It would come with 2 key inserts that matched it. Fisker doesn't have any of these in stock, last I've heard. I've never seen an uncut one, ever.
Do we know the original manufacturer of the key lock insets?
Maybe one can exchange them this way...
Car battery died triggering a serious of events, none good. Harleyguy has been helping me. However, I needed to get into the trunk with no electric... The trunk entry method described by Lomax works great. Took less than 15 seconds start to finish. Bottom seat pops up....grab seat back on top pull away...pops off. Trunk release is top right next to the seat belt strap.

Funny how one small event triggers many others...I need to get into my trunk to change the tire...to get out the battery.... but my tire locknut key was in my trunk which I couldnt open.... LOL....
The American Automobile Association offers free roadside assistance for locked keys in car if you are a member and have purchased insurance via them. The lowest tier of a AAA membership can cost as little as $60 per year, while the highest tier can cost as much as $120.
