They are on their second generation of (low-volume) production cars, the Mini-E and the Active-E. They definitely deserve credit for researching the technology and trying to push the limits with concept cars that were not commercially feasible but definitely advanced the state of the art. I don't think BMW wants to be in the speciality niche business. They will only fully commit o an EV or EVer when they can sell many thousands of them all over the world.Forty years?? All this shows is how long they've taken and still have yet to actually follow through.
