I'm on the list for a Karma, and I'm wondering how hard it will be initially to get insurance for it when it is delivered. If I called Allstate right now they'd probably have a blank look on their faces when I asked for a quote on a "Fisker Karma". Do insurance companies usually get up to speed on things like this, or will I have to get insurance from a specialty insurer? I wonder how it went for Tesla owners when that car first came out.

I talked with Fisker PR on the issue and rates are still being determined -- their advice is to wait a bit longer.

Yeah, I spoke with my Allstate people and they said it wasn't in the system yet.

I heard back from Allstate today, and they told me that the insurance on a Karma would run around $617 for six months. She said it still isn't in the system, but she spec'ed it out to get the price.
