Yikes! That's pretty steep. I thought insurance was expensive in San Francisco. I pay close to that for the whole year, but in my case, we have a lot of different policies with the same company so we get the multi-policy discount. I am hoping it would be a lot cheaper here in New Hampshire.

I'm insured with Allstate along with my other cars. I am paying around 1k a year, which was less than my 10 yr. old Audi I was replacing. Allstate looked at the 4 cylinder engine and assessed the car on this factor. My broker acknowledged that since there wasn't enough claim data on the car (in 2013) they really didn't know what risk they were assuming by writing the policy. That may have changed since then, but my rate hasn't gone up. As everyone else has said, as far as insurance goes, its just another car to them. 2 seaters, sports cars or high horsepower/big engine cars are going to get whacked by the insurance companies, thats why alot of 2 seaters have a pseudo back seat so they qualify for a lower insurance rate.

I've got Hartford insurance through AARP. They have the Karma listed as $110,500 new. I have bodily Injury and Uninsured motorists at $500,000 and a bunch of other coverage including actual cash value for the Karma. My premium for the Karma is $1,478.00/yr. I live in the SF Bay Area which is fairly expensive. Oh, I also have my home insured with them. I checked with USAA before I went with Hartford and USAA was more expensive.

I just checked with my Geico agent and they don't insure Fisker. Guess I will check Progressive and Allstate(which i had until 2 months ago for the past 17 years but switched due to high rates). Karma???? :)
My Karma is insured through Geico. At first they refused and I raised holy he11. I can't even remember the exact BS reason they gave (I was so livid)...and remember, this was back when Fisker was still in business.

I have heard things about Geico that the answers you get about certain cars will vary from state to state. Try them again and ask to speak to a shift/department/whatever Manager. That's what I had to do in order to get clearance for mine.

Thanks Sandy. I will try again. This was his exact response. "Unfortunately, I would not be able to write that vehicle because of the performance background that the Karma has."
