Insurance issues

There was a thread about getting insurance for Karma's a few months ago, but I wanted to see if anyone out there has actually secured anything. My Farmer's guy is still having trouble finding a "specialty agent" that will cover the car the moment I take possession, which according the latest info, is around the first week in January. With "so many" of us getting close (and some this very week from what I've read here), does anyone have it? If so, which company is covering, and what price range did you receive? Thanks to any and all who have info.

@Richard: I got a not entirely outrageous quote from AAA in San Francisco about a week ago. They did not have the car in their system but they quoted it based on the car's purchase price and miles I drive, etc. I have all of my other insurance with them so the price they quoted me may not be representative of what others would pay, but their quote for me was $1800/year for full coverage. Hope that helps.

The quote I got from Allstate was $744 / 6 mos. As stated in the other post that's more than I pay for the much more expensive (and dangerous) Aston Martin, but the rate will fall once they've had time to collect data on the car. I suspect it'll be closer to $600 after that.

State Farm also gave me a quote which was only $581, but that was if I moved all my other policies over to them, and since their homeowner's was quite a bit more than Allstate it was a net wash.

That's actually a pretty good deal. Car insurance in San Francisco is super expensive. When I moved from Menlo Park (30 miles south) to San Francisco, my car insurance jumped by about 30%.

For Huntsville, AL, 42 y.o single male, with USAA membership for over 13 years, excellent driving record, adding to my existing policy was about $100/mo extra.

I emailed my Farmers office with a sample VIN (off the dealer's demo EcoSport) but have heard nothing back from them. But, my build date means I have at least 3 or 4 months to go yet before the car is here. (Probably longer since I want a problematic paint color :dodgy:)
I got my Insurance from Liberty Mutual. 49 year old male, multiple car discount, $1000 deductible, assumes mileage under 12K a year, and the rate was $945 for one year. They had to "manually" quote it outside the system since it wasn't in their computers. But I suppose they mainly go off replacement value / price.
