I enjoy out-accelerating the Tesla Model S

Call me juvenile, but I do enjoy putting some of the local smug Tesla drivers in their place with a well-timed drag race onto the freeway. It happened again today. Two lanes, and I am prepped to get on a long freeway onramp. Tesla Model S pulls up next to me at the light. Driver says to me: "that's a Fisker??? It doesn't look like one...", to which I reply: "you won't see any others like this, it's called a Fisker Latigo - an older model". Light goes green, and as all Tesla drivers do, he steps on it hard. OK, I'm game, so I step on it and in a flurry of noise, I blow by him before we are halfway up the ramp - and at the top of the onramp I'm a couple car lengths ahead at 90 mph. It only took about 7 seconds, but I'm pretty sure that guy is still wondering what he saw (hint: a 650HP V-10 burning gas faster than Elon musk burns through R&D budgets!).

Yes, he would've beaten my Karma. But for today, the Fisker Latigo reigns supreme!

And don't get me wrong, I like the Model S. Its a few of the owners I find unpalatable.

I was about to call BS when I read the thread title but then remembered you have a Latigo too :D
Haha now if only we could do something about the Karma's power...
Awesome! Would have loved to have seen his face. Well done

I got you with the ol' "bait and switch"...I should have been a car dealer!
I had to look up the Latigo to see what is was. Looks like an awesome car. I hope Fisker continues to work as a designer for FA no matter who ends up owning the company.

You have a Latigio and a Karma...I think whatever profession you chose was the correct one :)

I do like Henrik Fisker's designs. Not sure where he will land in all this, but he hasn't designed his last car. My collection includes a good cross section of his work...just missing the Z8! Here is a family photo, where you see the DNA-based resemblance.

It's not just the profession. He was obviously very good at it.

Looks like quite a collection! They definitely look like siblings, and all 3 are stunning.
You should have bought the Tramonto Convertible that Fisker was selling at Monterey (Mecum I think). Sold for $70k which was a bargain. Not sure if it was a CB car or Henrik's personal car as he was there.

I'm pretty sure that wasn't Henrik's car, but if I had known it was going up for auction, I would have jumped at it. That was a $250K++ car, so $70K would be a huge bargain. Here is the link to the Mecum (you were right) sales info:

When I saw Henrik in Monterey last year, I had him take the Latigo out for a drive, for old times' sake:

You have a great looking family. Congratulations! I would have loved to see you smoke the Tesla.
what is it with this forum and the telsa?!?!

Dave_car_Guy, you have a great collection and I like you have enjoyed the visuals that henrick has brought to the car industry. I wished henrick would of stayed with Telsa, imaging smoking an AMG or M6, 911 or Panamara S with the looks of a Sunset with a Telsa underpining -- now that's a roadster ... looks, speed and quite acceleration ;-)
Wow Dave_Car_Guy, I'm sure that beats the pick up truck Henrik was driving parked in the background...

A man's gotta find work wherever he can, eh? ;)
Someone was driving a Latigo in our Town around 2:30 p.m. this afternoon. I wonder who has one in NorCal? Dennis, do you know?

Hmm, that would be a surprise. I thought the other one was in Southern California (there are only two in the world - prototype car #000 and mine, #001). I am in NorCal (Danville) but was not driving it around today on the Peninsula. So if you did see the other Latigo, that was #000, which is built on a 645i. A rare sighting!! I need to find that guy and get the two siblings together!
Dave, since we seem to have the most Tesla's per square foot around here, maybe #000 was out hunting. But if I catch a glimpse of it again I'll chase it down. Ha!
