Hello. I bought a non-running FK last week from a friend who has had it since new. 35,000 miles. It was a decent car until he parked it during the "work from home" time some folks experienced. It sat for over 2 years until he tried to get it going recently. The 12V battery was toast. We changed it. Now it will not boot up.

It is now sitting on my 4-post lift. Check out my video illustrating what's happening.

Hi Greg,

The VCM needs to be flashed.

The easiest and painless way is to pull the VCM and send it with the key FOBs to Joe at EVolution Autosports.

They will wake it up and send it back to you. I don't think Karma of Calgary works on Fisker's anymore - but you could call them to see if they would send a tech and a laptop out to you to flash locally.

EVolution is the real McCoy. No need to be nervous.

He has been with Fisker since day 1. Him and Harley Guy are "Legend" in the Fisker community.

What they do for your VCM is rather complex. It will be reinstalled into another Fisker then programed - removed and sent back to you.

Just the thought that someone out there bought a Karma for this purpose is truly amazing. Kinda like a $80 000.00 bench testing tool. But a real donor 2012 Fisker Karma.

There is a gent in the NHL that also lives in Alberta - he had the same issue as you and he pulled his VCM out himself, sent it to Joe and was back up and running in a week.

Search VCM in the downloaded Service Manual - step by step instructions will have it out in less than 30 mins. Send it overnight via Purolator with tracking.

p.s. your white C4 looks like a 32 Valve ZO6? Wild whip!

thanks. Joe already sent me the VCM removal Pdf. will start removal today. The C4 is a '91 ZR1. 32-valve overhead cam. 375hp not bad for 1991. Still fast by today's standards 0-60 less than 5 sec and 180 MPH top speed (which I hope to never see)
