Is it normal for the gearbox or gear panel to shine brighter at times when driving?
Since the gear control pyramid seems to glow brigther sometimes.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
I just had my karma diagnosed with 2 faulty battery pieces so not sure if its related.
I did have some vibrations as well when accelerating from 0 in the past.
Thank you.

You mean the flickering light? Technically its not supposed to flicker, but its a design issue that all of the cars were built with.

There was a small number of updated parts built to fix that issue but it doesn't cause any functional problems other than the visual effect (flickering).

8AVGMPG: Wow, I always thought the disco effect was an intentional 'design flourish'. I never knew it was actually a fault, however benign.

cesardew: The flickering you're describing is very common and has always occurred. Search there forums for "Disco Effect" or "PRND Disco" and you'll find lots of threads discussing it going back a couple years.

There has been a fair amount of discussion about this phenomenon in this thread and this one. So far, it has not been associated with any failures. It's either a design flourish, or a harmless bug. It's a bit distracting, especially at night, but generally appears to be harmless.

Good to know it's nothing to worry about, thank you very much for the info.
