I assume you know the the car has to be on in order for the Glove Box to open? It's a strange quirk of the Karma.

Hahahaha, wonderful and “quirky” car…
The VCM triggers a solenoid, check fuse 14 (15 A rating).
(Same as trunk and fuel filler cover switches) …

One thing to mention … the glove box switch only works when the car is ON (not in ready or accessory mode as far as I know). You have to be creative if the solenoid or lock mechanism is faulty, there is no emergency release.
