After over 10,000 miles I have not make it through 1 week of reliable driving. My car could remain in the shop indefinitely without any remedy of multiple problems. Under my state's law my Fisker is a Lemon. Per my owners manual I have sent certified letters to Fisker requesting a remedy. It has been 2 months since my initial request. My letters have been ignored and there has been no attempt to contact me.

Unfortunately I feel backed into a corner because I can't sell a broken car, and it doesn't seem like Fisker will respond to me unless I retain council.

The list is long but the major issue is whether she'll start. 2 flatbeds and 2 more times leaving me in a parking lot. Check engine light is on after being fixed 7 times. Radio is intermittent. Traction control is intermittent. Command center is intermittent. I don't bother with bluetooth phone or USB anymore. Comfort settings work half the time... I could go on and on. My dealer quickly fixes and sends me on my way but the problems persist. Production number is 13XX.

I second long-term problem with check engine light - I have it on now for two months and it does not go away even after performing hard reset or PRDN reset. it is very annoying because I have to guess my speed based on circular speed display bar. Went to dealer to get 510 software update, waited for three hours only to be told that somehow during software update they cannot get online authorization from European headquarters of Fisker from Switzerland, so no software upgrade. Next step that they recommended is that they have to update software module by module, which apparently takes about 6 hours and if one update goes bad, you have to start all over. Not sure if I want to take a chance to brick the car. The dealer (Emil Frey owned) was very nice, but it seems there is only marginal factory support. I have never received any official welcome to the club from manufacturer or news of any updates, even though the dealer sent all my info to manufacturer. So no factory support - for me at least. I feel that very soon we will all be on our own and Fisker will file this project into missed life opportunity bin.

I think 628 and 510 fixed all of the issues except the annoyances like Command Center. You should definitely get the upgrade and see if you still have the problems.

Antonin: While Fisker should definitely step up and take care of your issues, if the CEL/MIL is your most annoying issue, any automotive shop can review the stored code and turn off the light using an ODB II scanner. You can even get your own scanner very cheaply (around $50 from Amazon) and use it to turn the light off. This is a poor excuse for lack of service, which should definitely be addressed, but as long as you can reduce your irritation level easily and cheaply, why not?

Sounds to me like you are having a problem with one or more of the many computers (control units) that are running the car. Have they tried replacing the Hybrid Control Unit or any of the other computers? It sounds like they just reset and clear the codes without actually fixing anything.

Fabulist: It's not so easy. There is an underlying problem with engine diagnostics that keeps popping up in form of CEL light. When I discussed this with dealer, they said that reading OBD II codes might not reveal what the problem is since each car uses some standard generic codes for many common problems but most of them are just unknown codes specific to each manufacturer. Maybe you can turn the light off momentarily, but next time you start the car it will be there again. First they thought it was caused by improperly closed gas tank, but no such luck. Then I had to run. I will keep everybody posted what was the issue.

I had check engine light go on 3 times after 1500 miles. In dealer twice, for several days. Fisker was very responsive to dealer. After several attempts at correction, Fisker is replacing battery next week.
They say one of the cells is incompletely charging. We will see what happens. Other than that a few very minor, but annoying gremlins.

Right. I was grasping at straws there. I hope they figure out what the problem is soon. Keep us posted.

Reading the codes is pretty easy. Knowing what they mean is another matter. I agree that the dealer should be able to get that information from Fisker, so they should step it up.

Marcus and Antonin. I had my Attorney beat up my dealership until I was able to get them to take my car back and give me my money. The issue list was huge and this company will not be around much longer. I'm the PROUD owner of a Ghost now, that I was going to get from day one, until I decided to get the Fisker. Wow, I forgot what it was like to have a car actually work right and not make me feel frustrated or worried. Do what you can to get rid of it. Get back to a regular car my friend. Its the best feeling. I wish you luck. BTW: I'm not bashing Fisker. If I was, I would not have purchased one. Its just not ready yet and they are ripping there customers off. Unload that thing guys. Get your Attorney involved. Again, good luck.

You're PROUD of driving a Rolls Royce? I would be embarrassed to drive such a pretentious, gas-guzzling douchemobile.

In other news...I've had my Karma for about 4 months now. It required a replacement muffler the first weekend I had it. Since then, it's been problem free and an absolute joy to drive.

See my post on luxury brand identity. VegasKarma has emancipated himself into a whole new tier of luxury and will henceforth look down upon us plebeian Karmaites from his ghostly grey clouds.

It's always a pity losing a fellow Karma driver to another brand. I can't imagine trying to decide between a RR Ghost and a Karma, since they are such different cars -- the Ghost is probably more in keeping with the Las Vegas Ethos of irresponsible luxury. Hope you enjoy it and feel free to come back any time.
