Front Door Weatherstripping Loose

2352 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  JAM_22
Both my front doors have weatherstripping that runs vertically near the hing that has just pulled completely away from the door itself. It is "loosely" hanging in there, and doesn't seem like it can fall out, but it obviously isn't doing the sealing job it's meant to. Any suggestions on what the best kind of adhesive could be to put it back on the door without having to take the door off? I've tried trim double sided tape (which didn't stick to the rubber) and some black silicone (which wasn't immediately tacky enough to keep the rubber in place, and it's impossible to clamp or even hold it in place for very long. I need a glue that's immediately sticky. So, I was thinking of contact cement, but worried that would be rigid.

Remove the seal and toss it. Fisker service bulletin stating it wasnt necessary and if they loosen just remove and discard, believe it or not lol

Same as the RDM then? :D
And the battery and the CIU and the ...______
I had the same problem on the driver's side. I used rubber cement. Worked perfectly and only took a couple of minutes.

I used contact cement. It worked. :)
Don't worry it will peel off again test me I've tried everything on that seal .
I was about to say that I don't have the problem of freezing to weaken the glue, but I guess that won't apply with Miami. My only hope is that I don't have humidity working on the glue! :D
I need the shafts in my Electric Motors connecting to my RDM replace / upgraded. Does anyone on the West Coast can do this work? If yes please send your contact information.

Thanks,
Try either Elite Motors in Orange County or Pat's Garage in San Francisco. The only CSP providers in California that I know of.
