There's a small cruise-in car show once a month in a McDonald's parking lot about a mile from my house. Tomorrow is the first "Burgers and Bumpers" show of the year, and I'll be showing off my Karma along with my wife's VW Beetle.

To save me from answering the same questions 1000 times (you know the ones: What is it? Who makes it? Is that a solar panel?, etc...) I made up a little sign I'm going to display. I thought I would share it here to see if anyone had any suggestions or feedback, or in a case anyone wanted to use it too. I've added it as a PDF attachment to this post.

All comments appreciated!

You may want to add "(EVer)" to the end of the sentence: Electric Vehicle with extended range. Otherwise, I guarantee you someone will ask "What does EVer mean?". ;)

You know, it originally was there, then I took it out. It just didn't look right to me, plus I figured people should be smart enough to get it. It's why I capitalized the sentence the way I did, and why I left it all by itself. Maybe I'm giving readers too much credit. We'll see :)

This is excellent. My only suggestion is to add a QR code pointing to Fisker's website for more information. I made one and you can find it on this link. This will let folks get more information directly from Fisker if they are interested.

Great idea Fab. Please find version 2 of the sign attached.

I just got back from the Burgers and Bumpers show and the sign was a hit. Not only did it save me from answering some of the more common questions, but it educated a lot of people who wouldn't have asked, or wouldn't have been able to while I was walking around.

The Karma certainly draws a crowd!

I was inspired by @LonePalmBJ's sign idea to make a QR code and attach it on my windshield in place of the temporary registration papers (that I no longer need since I have the permanent docs now). This should be helpful to folks who stop and check out my car when I am not there to answer their questions.

I used a Goo.gl shortened URL so I can see if anyone actually uses the QR code to access the Fisker website. It would be interesting to see if anyone actually uses it.

hahaha glad to see someone went ahead and made the QR code, I was showing it to a friend the other day and mentioned how I get a million questions a day about everything on it and he half-jokingly said I should stick a QR code on it so people could figure it out for themselves. Nice to see someone actually did this, I may be doing the same here soon

People are still going to ask you questions if you are around. The QR code is for when you are NOT around to answer questions. If you use goo.gl to create a shortened URL, it also generates a QR code for you which you can cut and paste into a document and print out. If log in with your google email account first and then generate the short URL and the QR code, you can go back and keep track of how many times, and when, that particular code has been scanned.

yeah I suppose that's true. Should at least cut down on the clusters of people around it when I come out of the store right :p. And thanks for the advice, I may just do that!

Thanks for sharing - I want to keep a stack of these in my trunk and hand them out to people that have a million questions lol! Would that be rude?

I don't think so. A lot of people who ask me about my Karma end up taking a photo of the badge or the QR code so that they can look it up at their leisure later since Fisker is not a particularly familiar brand name, at least not yet. If you use a QR code, you don't really need to hand anything out since most people can just snap a shot of it with their cellphone camera.

A lot has happened in the four and a half years since I made my original show sign so I've decided to update it in time for the 2016 National Drive Electric day.

The sign has proven to be very handy, and it saves me from answering the same questions 100 times whenever I take the Fisker to a car show!

Thank you so much for sharing this! We have been all over the city showing the Fisker and popped into a few cruise-ins as well and you really do get the same questions over and over. I don't mind answering them at all but I sometimes think the cars on either side of me must get tired of hearing me talk about since the Fisker certainly demands so much attention and literally has a crowd gathered around it all day/night long! I LOVE taking it out and educating people about this car. I have met so many interesting people, have been asked if I would sell mine numerous times and at the show I was at yesterday I was invited to Ohio's Concours (Concours d'Elegance)with my Fisker by one of the board members here in Cincinnati (it's the 2nd largest one in the country!). They want it to be in the "Future Collectibles" area of the show. Yay :)
I have been really wanting to do a sign for car shows like this and just get stuck every time I start mocking one up. What you have created is just right on point. Thank you so much again for sharing and I hope you keep enjoying those car shows/cruise ins!
