Interesting stuff! (for die-hards that is :p )

I was a bit puzzled however by something Reuters wrote today, near the end of an article on Fisker and China:

''Earlier this month, Fisker dropped Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies (QTWW.O) as a supplier for power inverters on the Karma, a part priced at $9,300 each.

Fisker said the component, which changes power from a battery to drive large electrical equipment, was available from another supplier and that the change would not risk a delay to the Karma launch in March.''

If this is true, how much of the Karma still comes from Quantum: solar roof, software?

The drivetrain and software. The inverter is what takes "electricity coming out of generator" and transforms it to high voltage DC power suitable for battery-charging and electric-motor-running.

Inverters are generally pretty cheap, except when you get into the power range in the Karma. ;)
