Not sure if this is a typo or what, but according to the AutoBlog post on the new Surf, the Fisker Karma weighs only 4300lbs.

The article says "...Aside from the added carriage work and its space afforded, overall weight on the Surf versus the Karma increases by just 77 pounds, putting it in the 4,400-pound neighborhood."

Even the MotorTrend article hints at the Karma weighing about 4100lbs

"Weight as a result of the new hatch and standard tilting glass panorama roof grows by 77 pounds to an estimated 4177 pounds."

Could that be right???

Also, side note: the Surf only added 1.2 inches of headroom... the main motivation here was not headroom comfort but trunk/luggage space.

I think they're off by 1000lbs. Isn't the Karma 5300lbs.?

Thats what we'd all been told as being the unofficial weight at the roadshow events... however Fisker has not officially released weight numbers... I wonder if at the Frankfurt/Munich preview events, they told reporters 'official' weight numbers...

Like with everything else, maybe we should check with the dealers. :-/

According to Top Gear the Surf weighs 2,500kg which is 5,500 lbs., so yeah, the Karma should come in at around 5,300 lbs.

According to the information released in the press kit the Karma's curb weight is 5,600 lbs. Don't where the 4,300 lbs comes from.

I am guessing someone had trouble converting Kilograms to Pounds or vice versa. Math is Hard!

If it was only 4,300, I suspect the HP/TQ would get you to 60 closer to 5 seconds vs. 6 seconds, even with only a single gear...
