I am still hoping for a happy ending on this one.
This description doesn't sound particularly objective. While bad press didn't help, the bigger problem was that there was stuff to have bad press about.True story about one of the most fantastic American cars ever built AND about personal hopes and tragedies behind Anti-Fisker campaigns and one-sided media coverage which has damaged the lives of thousands of people in the United States.
Only a Fisker insider would be able to get the testing footage in the teaser.I'd be all for this if it wasn't being done by Michael Groene's (dir. of electrical engineering) wife.
Another Fisker superstar
Me neither. What's that about?I think it's legit to make a "documentary" but have an opinion or side to the story. None of Michael Moore's documentaries could ever be thought of as particularly objective.
Anyway, I totally don't get the reference at :55 in the video about moving to the Midwest. WTH?
Late last year we were informed that the engineering team would be relocating to SE Michigan, but that never came to fruition.Me neither. What's that about?
So it had something to do with this bit of news from November 2012?Late last year we were informed that the engineering team would be relocating to SE Michigan, but that never came to fruition.
I was no longer with the company in March, so I am also curious.
Gary Horvath and Tony Posawatz never relocated to California. A great statement about startup mentality and commitment... Or lack thereof.Late last year we were informed that the engineering team would be relocating to SE Michigan, but that never came to fruition.

Same with Tom La Sorda when he was CEO as well as a couple of other directors. They were also provided travel expenses back & forth.Gary Horvath and Tony Posawatz never relocated to California. A great statement about startup mentality and commitment... Or lack thereof.
Yeah but this one was directly in charge of most of the **** ups on this car and a lot more off the carOnly a Fisker insider would be able to get the testing footage in the teaser.
In a post a few weeks back showing Tony's tweets, he tweets that he's living in Emerald Bay which is in Laguna Beach, CaliforniaGary Horvath and Tony Posawatz never relocated to California. A great statement about startup mentality and commitment... Or lack thereof.
Could have been a corporate rental / perk. Seen it before. In a post a few weeks back showing Tony's tweets, he tweets that he's living in Emerald Bay which is in Laguna Beach, California

The documentary may not even be made as it depends on kickstarter funds. Should be interesting to see if they raise enough $$$ to produce this documentary. My guess is Jul 31st is the day the kickstarter campaign begins and this is their way of getting the word out.Now it appears that the trickle of Fisker Italia insider stories is a leadup to the documentary launch?

I don't have a good feeling about this documentary -- knowing the PR acumen of anyone involved with Fisker it will be a tragic whisper footnote.
I wasn't questioning the definition of a documentary. It's fine and sometimes necessary for or such films to adopt a particular point of view. I'm just tired of the Fisker as victim narrative. As difficult as it is to pull off such a venture, Fisker's main problems were internal, i.e. poor engineering and poor management, not "Anti-Fisker campaigns and one-sided media coverage."I think it's legit to make a "documentary" but have an opinion or side to the story.
