Two weeks ago the only Fisker Karma driving around in Europe - the Dutch demo car - took part in an event that lets children who are very ill take a ride as a passenger in a sports car (Droomrit voor het Leven - Dream Ride for Life). They also held drag races. The Karma was pitched against a Ferrari F430 Spider! No match ofcourse (0-60 for the Ferrari is 3,9 secs vs. 5,9 secs for the Karma). But I have to say the Karma doesn't do bad at all. And also the sound doesn't get completely drowned out by the roaring Ferrari; you can hear its distinct 'whistle'.

You can see the drag race here from 1:30 (actual start at 1:55):

Definitely cool. Too bad there was no camera at the finish line. It would be interesting to see how far ahead the Ferrari finished.

I wonder if the wheels ever touch the wheel wells if theres a lot of weight in the trunk/passenger compartment. I recall someone saying earlier they saw one of the roadshow cars exhibit this... anyone know?

Reason I ask is I noticed in the footage that the clearance between the rear wheel and the well looks very very small.

For Dutch:

Mr. Gianfranco Pizzuto (4 years ago first investor of Fisker Automotive) Fisker distributor and owner of Fisker Italia/GP Supercars has a Silver Wind Eco-Chic demonstrator car as well. Please see pictures enclosed taken in front of the GP showroom at Merano-Italy this morning. For my knowledge there is at least another demonstrator car in Switzerland at the headquarters of Fisker Automobile AG (Emil Frey Group) near Zürich-Switzerland.

And there are hundreds more in Europe ofcourse, in Finland...
Fisker really needs to start a factory delivery program, at least for the European buyers. I was in France during one of the previous target delivery windows and was prepared to fly to Finland and drive my Fisker to Calais and put it on a ship.

Even for us Americans ... I'd love to use it as an excuse to go out to Finland (and Norway and Sweden of course). :D

Chris
I did ask Marti Eulberg (Fisker's CMO) about this and she said it was in the works but for sometime next year, given their focus on just getting cars to customers and challenges they've had with the production line.
