Fault Code

This morning, when I started the car, it started on the engine, even though the car was fully charged. A fault code showed up. When I went to my garage, they were able to clear it, but they said that the code read POAC4 $07E8 Hybrid Powertrain Control Module - Do I need to worry?

Need to worry if you cleared the code and the code comes back
P0AC4 is the generic catch-all code from the Hybrid portion of the vehicle to turn on the Check Engine Light. It's usually attached to another Fisker-specific Hybrid fault code, though most generic scan tools can't read it. One of the common reasons it came on was when the pre-recall cooling fan would burn out. I'm assuming you've gotten the recall completed, so it may be something else that will need the Fisker tool to scan if it returns.
Thanks for the information chaps. Will my garage be able to get the Fisker tool, so they can maintain the vehicle, or is it like rocking horse poo - extremely rare???

Cheers Fred
The same thing happens to me from time to time. No pattern---starts with ICE even though it says Stealth. No warning icons on dash.

Then it will go back to Stealth after driving awhile. Sometimes stays in ICE. Do I need to check this out?
@Mikey43, that is normal. It does this every so often. Mine seem to do it once every week or two (daily driver).
I would guess that the '$07E8' part is the additional code.

The computer runs the internal combustion engine semi-regularly (about once a week for me, it varies depending on your usage of the vehicle) to keep the I.C.E. working properly. Just like any petrol-powered car it needs to run now and then to keep it running later.

Only a Fisker Dealer will have the tool .
Gpt another code today P103A - can anyone tell me what this is?

So I've gone through the DTC list and checked every single screenshot of faults codes that I have so far and could not find your code. It's not uncommon for codes to be missing from the DTC list, as sometimes only part of the code is on the list then once you get into the documents it expands the listing a bit, but even a search for "P10" didn't bring up anything. Additionally, I couldn't find that specific code from screenshots of over 150 different cars. I checked with Harleyguy as well, nothing.

So either you're running into a problem that nobody else has, or your generic scan tool is reading things incorrectly. I'm guessing the latter, as the "1" after the P (As opposed to a 0) means it's a manufacturer specific code and I've already seen mistakes from scan tools when it comes to reading those on a Fisker.

Perhaps it was a typo, and you meant P013A? That's an exhaust code, most likely coming from a broken exhaust.

If not, you'll really need the Fisker tool to check further on this one.

Ok thanks Lormax. I'll recheck if it comes back on, but I know that we seem to have an unusual noise at around 60mph, bit like an old man gently breaking wind.

I bet that's window seal issue. Have somebody listen to the windows at 60mh.
I'll bet Sigurd is right, though I have to ask if the engine is on when you hear the noise? Is the noise there during stealth as well?

If you Google on DTC P103A you'll get several hits. Problem is that the code has different meanings for different cars.

For example on the Dodge Dart:

p103a-cylinder 2 oil supply solenoid valve driver short to ground

On the Audi it means:

p103a - Excessive fuel in engine oil

This info might not be useful - except to know that car manufacturers do use that DTC.
Hi Lormax, thanks for the information. I may have misread the error code. I will check if itt comes back again. I know I'm getting a rather flat noise from the right exhaust. I'll get it checked out just In case.

Put the car up on a lift and check for the heat shields hitting the mufflers .

Anyone know why my SE 94 has started returning OBDII codes $07E8 which my scanner has listed as POAC4 which I think is generic for illuminating the check engine light by the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module? The scanner identified it as VPWR (V) 13.615 which could be an indication of a low 12 volt charge condition on the battery? This is the second time this CE light has come on within the last week and usually appears just after un-plugging the HV charger when I first get in to drive. The first time I cleared the code but twice is worth checking further. Thanks!
