Being new to this forum (and my Karma) I am having a hard time searching the site for specific problem or issue that occasionally pops up with the car. As an idea I am putting forward a thought to create combined document of FAQ and troubleshooting procedures (if applicable), maybe through Google Docs so we can all contribute. It would be broken down by category (drivetrain, battery, body, software, etc.).

It could get messy, but it might be worth a try if there are enough people willing to contribute and edit. We should also concentrate on issues (let's call them challenges:) relating to the car after the latest software update so we do not solve "challenges" that were already solved by updates.

What do you think?

Conceptually, it's a good idea. The details will get very messy and there is a risk of stale information hanging around since it is easy to add to these types of databases but no one seems to like to go back and take out the dead wood.

That said, I think there is value in having a "Welcome to Fisker Ownership -- the Practical Guide" sticky thread where current owners could share tips and tricks with new owners such as yourself. Do you think something like that would accomplish most of what you had in mind?

I agree it can get messy and stale, but that is the fate of most such documents. If there are enough readers interested, let's then start sticky thread on quick tips how to solve problems that were encountered by owners and see where it takes us. But it has to be very short in the spirit of "this is the problem and this is its solution".

Start the thread. I will make it sticky.

If you'll recall, this is exactly what the FiskerBuzz WIKI was for, which Wimbledon stood up and made part of the main navigation bar, but very few people actually contributed too.

This forum has shown no ability to keep a discussion thread on-topic, and I doubt a sticky thread would fare any better. The WIKI is an ideal solution - a crowd sourced, open collaboration that we can all edit and tweak. I'd suggest instead of a thread we encourage people to use the WIKI which is already there.

Antonin - Perhaps you can create a WIKI page or set of pages for the "Practical Owners Guide"?

A set of wiki pages seems like a good idea, but if I click on "Wiki" in the top navigation section I just get an error...

I must admit that by being new to my Karma I do not have at my fingertips many of the solutions this board has developed over time, but I have very large experience from ownership of many high value sport cars.

I think Wiki collaboration (once it is up and running) looks more in line what I was looking for, but agreed that it would take lot of time and energy from all members. As with any organization, there are few active ones and the rest - well, just likes to read :)

Also, new owners are probably more active than older ones who either accepted the "issues" or grew tired of them and are no longer interested in discussing them over and over.

I am more than happy and willing to help find and paste some of the issues and solutions though...

Hmm.. I'm getting the error now too. The WIKI used to work, but not it looks like it's broken.

Site Owners/Mods - Can you revive the Wiki please?

Here's the start of a thread about the Wiki when Wimbledon first created it:

(Ironically, it's part of one of the many other "Definitive Problem List" threads this forum has attempted in the past)

Sorry, but that's beyond my powers. Need the site owner to do it.

I had forgotten about the Wiki. Can it be accessed directly or do we have to go through the FB link?

Yes, see my previous post where I said "The WIKI used to work, but now it looks like it's broken." :)

I suspect that when Tyler turned over the reigns to the new board owners he didn't make a needed configuration change to the Wiki component or to the new Administrator's account, but I'm just guessing.

I will get in touch with Taylor about the previous WIKI page that was here and see if we can get it running again. We are looking into upgrading the site to a vB version so that can give us more options and range to completing this task. Stay tune guys. If you have any other concerns or questions please feel free to PM me :)
