Very Cool. A bit too far out of my area to join the fun, but we should get this going in Western Washington.

I would be interested in joining.
I was sent an email from the organizer, comment here if you're interested in going.

"Can we count on the Fisker owners group to host a meet up in Cupertino on the 23rd of September? Electric Auto Association Silicon Valley will be having our 40th EV Rally + National Plug In Day @ De Anza College. We'll have plenty of space and are inviting all of the EV owners groups to join in and invite their friends.

We have plenty of space and will have test drives of many of the latest EV arrivals to choose from.

I am considering going. @SiliconKiwi, you plan to attend?
No, I have Giants tickets that day and their playing too well to not go (and it's fan appreciation day).

Isn't every game supposed to be fan appreciation day?

UPDATE: I just sent in the registration material and am definitely going to attend. It would be great to have other Fisker owners there to show the flag and help explain the car to the other attendees. I have even created a poster to put on the car to explain the drive system (see attached). Hope to see other Fisker owners there.

That's great guys, I'll be coming these with my EV scooter, any trades? :)
I would really like to attend this function but unfortunately I need to spend the day preparing my home for a 7.5kW Solar Panel installation on October 1st. Of course this will be used to fuel my Karma as well as help power my home.

That would depend on the EV Scooter.

Well that sounds like a good reason to skip the event. Luckily @Dennis and I will be attending to fly the Fisker flag.
Thanks for representing us Fab and Dennis, just make sure Dennis brings the right car along that day!

He's the one giving rides, so I have a feeling no one will complain if he shows up in the McLaren :D But I will have a chat with his Siri to remind him on Sunday morning to bring the Fisker.
Hi Fab and Dennis. How did it go at the EV rally? Pictures please.

It went pretty well. Lots of different production and home-made EVs and Hybrids. Dennis was very popular since he was giving rides. I got to drive a new Toyota RAV 4 EV with the Tesla-designed power train, which was pretty impressive. Here are links to panoramic shots I made during the event:

Panorama 1
Panorama 2

Couple of Notes:

1: Panorama 1 was taken in the late morning when the event was in full swing, whereas Panoram 2 was taken later in the afternoon, when some of the cars had already left.

2: The parking/display area were covered with a large solar array.

3: Compare the angle of the solar panels in Panorama 1 with that in Panorama 2. They changed angle throughout the day to better face the sun.

Nice pics, Fab.

I got there about 1pm and it was nice that there wasn't much of a crowd at all. I've gone to the EV rally in Palo Alto a few times and there's typically a long wait to get a ride. But here I was able to test drive several cars with no wait at all.

I saw the Karma when I got there, but by the time I thought to go take a look, it had gone.

At the event I drove the Toyota RAV 4, Mitsubishi iMiEV, the Ford Focus EV, Honda Fit EV.

Too bad we did not get a chance to meet in person. Dennis left a bit earlier but I was there until 3:45. Each time I tried to leave, a couple of more people would walk up and wanted to talk about the car, so I stayed and talked to them. I drove the new RAV 4E and liked it a lot. Someone was giving rides in their personal Tesla S, but the line for that was way too long. It was a great event overall.
I agree it was a great event, the Solar charger saved my scooter ev battery as I was on the last electrons.. They got a very impressive array setup there.

I couldn't have a chat with the you guys with the karma, just heard Dennis explains the line at the apple store for getting his iPhone 5 the other day.
The side thread wear on his front tires looks really scary at first sight..

I has an interesting chat with the guy with the etron A3, he works for VAG and claims that there is not going to be etron a3 in the coming future and that they are testing this platform for the R8 etron and future smaller cars like the Golf in europe.

I was also impressed by the dual motor mountain bike there that can easily get to 40mph with 2x10Ah battery packs, might be a good choice for me next spring.
