My dash displayed the key fob symbol with squiggly lines. Per owners manual, I needed to replace my battery remote. No problem, bought correct battery, replaced it, it works fine, but dash light does not turn off.

Also, just out of the blue the "cel" came on.

Today - I searched & followed directions on unplugging the fender harness, waited 7 minstrel & restarted the car, foot on brake set & released parking brake. The "cel" and key fob - chg battery lights are still on. Had to reset all radio stations, so I know unplugging the wire harness did something.

Any other ideas, or just wait it out?

Thanks. :s

I've gotten a lot of texts/calls/emails recently about the key fob battery. Also, some people have expressed the same thing you have, meaning they change the battery and the light is still there. The only thing I've suggested that's worked is just try changing the battery once more. I've had really good luck with Energizer 2032 batteries for the FOB.

Regarding the CEL, it has nothing to do with the key fob battery, just a strange coincidence. Have it scanned.
I'll change the fob battery again with an Energizer & reply with results this week. Agree the "cel" is just a coincidence. Usually that goes off after six complete re-starts.

Thanks Lormax!!
i had that happen to me too. I got it to go away by starting the car with my spare fob. Once it started and the symbol was gone I was then able to use the fob with the replaced battery with no issue. Just a suggestion
If you replace the battery in the key fob in order for the light to go out lock and unlock the door using the key fob no need to replace the battery again
Sorry for the delayed response. Went to ATL on Mon, just returned last evening. Fortunately, I fly and do not drive! Anyway, I replaced the battery & the dash light is gone.

Appreciate the other ideas & HarleyGuy, I'd have tried your recommendation, but I bought a two pack of batteries & just switched.

Thanks everyone. Off for a pleasure drive tomorrow.
I just want to add that when my key fob light came on, I replaced the battery and it came on again shortly after I replaced it. I realized that my spare key that hangs close to the driver side door may need to be replaced as well. Once I replaced both batteries in both Key fobs the light went out.
A lot of you are lucky to have both fobs. As a 2nd owner, I only have the original.

I did purchase an OBD II code reader for the check engine light. The Codes I got were:
P050A, P0AC4, and MIL ON. Hopefully, these codes mean something to Lomax, HarleyGuy, or others. They were not in the OBD manual. Also, hopefully I can change some part/filter or something easy to eliminate the light from coming back on.

Appreciate any guidelines.

Thanks!
I have a extra key fob if you need it, $350 you will need to program to match your car.

I can get key fobs for a lot less then that if need be .
Good to know as $350 is way too much for a spare key fob. Actually, I'd be happy with how to address the CEL Codes I got, which were:
P050A, P0AC4, and MIL ON. I'd rather tend to this to keep my vehicle in tip-top shape.

HarleyGuy any advice on what I need and if a local GM dealer can assist if these are ICE related? Something, I can fix? Thanks!
P050A Cold Start Idle Control System Performance
P0AC4 Hybrid Control Unit Requesting MIL Illumination

Clear those two out yourself with a code reader. Chances are they won't return.

Workimg on getting the part you need to fix the CEL problem
Thanks Lomax & HarleyGuy. Knowing the code descriptions and getting the Fisker proprietary part (PTC Thermostat) is huge. It's reasons like this we and our Karma's are grateful for both of you.
FYI - Many of you may know about Hybrid Support Solutions (HSS), and in case you don't, I wanted to let you know how valuable they were also in diagnosis with the CEL/MIL light issue. Key information they provided, graciously without fees, included what/why a key code was tripped and what to do to fix. Here's an example:
As for P050A, this code tells us that the Generator speed is outside the limits during engine warm-up. It means that more than two times, the generator was either below 1,300 RPM or over 1,500 RPM during catalyst warm-up. Again, in other words, the engine speed should be between 1,300 and 1,500 during warm-up. Like a fast idle until the engine achieves temperature. A GM Dealer may be able to diagnose as to why the speed is out of range.
This is the kind of information HSS has and how they can help owners. I found it very helpful, as I suspect many of you will, and with HarleyGuy we should be able to get the proprietary Fisker thermostat part, plus installation instructions to cure this problem for the foreseeable future!!

Due to the perseverance of HSS and HarleyGuy, I was able to purchase the proprietary Fisker PTC Heat Themostat. It was shipped today, complete with install instructions and pictures. This is absolutely AMAZING given the difficulty in finding parts due to the on-going litigation limiting supplies, vendor relationships, and overall parts availability.

The correct solution was reached. Merely resetting codes only temporary resets them, but doesn't eliminate them until generally the related parts are replaced.

Thanks again HSS for proper diagnosis and working with HarleyGuy to source parts.

If anybody else has this or other unusual electronic or mechanical issues keep them in mind.
Thank you glad everything worked out for you .
