Deep Ocean seen in the flesh

7496 Views 15 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  Deep Ocean
I just saw a Deep Ocean at Fisker Silicon Valley - in the sunlight it is amazing, absolutely gorgeous (in the sunny Northern California "winter"). It was sitting next to my SE (hopefully Fisker will clear them to deliver it on Wed), and I was genuinely torn. To those who have waited for the Deep Oceans to show up, IMHO it's been worth the wait. I didn't take a photo, but they wouldn't have done it justice anyway.

Hooray! They exist. Please take a photo, I don't care how crummy! I'm very glad to hear it looks great!

That'd be great, Dennis. Thanks! I've been looking for a picture in the wild of the production version and haven't been able to find one.

Dennis or Kiwi - any luck getting a picture? I'm dying to see what the car really looks like!

The paint is stunning in the sun, with more Diamond Dust than the other colors we've seen.

Awesome, thank you! I'm excited about my color choice!
Thank you for the pictures, Dennis. That is quite a lot of diamond dust!

Wow. Now I'm wondering if I should have gone with Laguna after all. :D Hope some of those come out soon (and Inferno, just because it would be cool to see photos of that out).

There are some Infernos in the wild. Here are some shots from Tampa:

OMG, that is one beautiful paint job. That really looks like the deep ocean. And, it really shows off the lines well. It is now officially my favorite color.
Yes, the Diamond Dust, it would seem to me, will look more appearant in any of the darker colors, Earth should look quite nice I think. Deep Ocean was awesome at the 2009 NAIAS and I loved the Rain/Thunder/Fire tri-tone leather of it too. I guess it was too over the top for most people to continue with it or required too much dye or something. Earth looked more champagne-like to me in the original bruchure and I was planning on going with it for the exterior so I could have a car with Earth exterior and Rain(water)/Thunder(air)/Fire interior, to cover the four primordial elements. All of this if they had allowed SEs choices of course.

Seems consistent with the LA Auto Show car...

In those 4 pictures I see one blue, one gray and two green Karmas.

Thus illustrating how hard it is to get accurate color impressions with cameras, software, and web pages.

Look at the floor color, too. Look at the Fisker logo high on the wall in the middle two photos.

The logo should be red-orange (sunset color) on top, and blue (ocean-ish) on bottom. In the two middle photos, it's yellow-and-cyan and white-and-lighter-cyan respectively.

I don't know what the actual color of the floor is, but I suspect it's closest to what one can see in the first photo.
Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh!
