Deep Ocean - Actual Color Unclear

Hi. Trying to figure out the actual color for Deep Ocean. The configuration tool that launched recently on the Fisker site threw me for a bit of a loop. I'm expecting a midnight-colored car - not a baby blue one.

I saw this at Fisker:

I was expecting this:

Anyone else scratching their heads? I've contacted Fisker and haven't heard back yet.

Fisker's web site colors are ... not good.

Deep ocean is one of those colors that does shift a lot depend on lighting, though. So your best bet is to go see an actual sample at the dealer.
Of all of the things about Fisker that irk me, this is probably the #1 issue. They've been at this for years and yet they've been unable to produce actual, accurate photos of what anything other than black, white, or silver will look like with anything other than a black interior. This is completely unacceptable at this point. The samples they showed on the Roadshow were entirely inadequate, and even then I was told that the actual paint would not look like that. "WTF!?!" is what was running thru my head when the lady in the truck told me that.

Why are there no photos of anything yet? Better yet, why are the computer renderings on the web site so friggin' awful? Especially for the brown tri-tone interior... that is the worst Photoshop job I've ever seen.

Brian,
See the video I posted on the color thread and youtube - I am also interested in the color. I have not seen it on the car, but on the official sample it looks like a darker shade than the one rendered on the web site. I think (as mentioned above) it will shift quite a bit, bringing up lighter tones in ful daylight and darker ones at night. Check out how the color changes as I slide in front of the panel and mask some of the ambient light.
Hope this helps
When Tesla started they gave out a set of color eggs to Roadster customers to help them decide.

Well, I've got my silver Matchbox car with the black interior... I guess that'll have to do.

I remember seeing the color shift in your (svp6's) video, yes. It's also looked quite different in a number of press photos of one of the show cars (from one of the European auto shows), although in the case of photos, there are even more variables.

It reminded me of some of the samples the interior decorator folks brought, as part of my house remodel project. They had a blue tile that went from very light blue with some sun angles to a much deeper blue with others. (We ended up avoiding that color for the bathroom, not that anything is finalized yet...)
Deep Ocean is the color of the 2009 NAIAS auto show Karma.

Kabalah is correct, the Jan 2009 Detroit Auto show car color was Deep Ocean. And SVP6's Youtube Video of the dealership paint "chips" is a good representation of how the color looks as you get different light on it. Here are a few photos from the 2009 Auto show. Deep Ocean takes on some grey tones in some lights, and blue in others. I think the configurator on the website needs to be changed….unless they completely changed the color, but if they had, it seems they would have used a new name to avoid confusion.

Thanks to all for your help on this. I now feel less crazy.

Not sure what their web developer was thinking; when doing the photoshopped color treatments one should certainly compare it to the actual production colors.

SVP6 - your video was indeed helpful. Must have missed it when I was looking at that other post.

Dave_Car_Guy - the pics are also helpful. I went back to the photos that I took at the LA Auto Show last year of what I believe was Deep Ocean on their first production car. It certainly is more in step with the video and photo above.

brian - where did you get the cool Matchbox?

Fisker sent me mine. I posted it on my Facebook page and said that I don't think I can get two sets of golf clubs in that trunk. lol.
