This is new since I got software upgraded a couple months ago. didn't notice anything for a while because the temps were pleasant here during fall, but the last two weeks we've had legit cold. The car does not make heat. When you set the climate control to a temp that SHOULD make heat, it sends air out the floor vents like you'd expect, but the air is cold. The AC does the same thing on warmer days: set the temp to something that should produce AC and it blows out the correct vents on the dash, but the air is just whatever the temp is outside. So it's not just the AC, but the entire climate spectrum that is down. Any ideas?

Open the hood and look for two hoses that go into the firewall located drivers side next to the AC expansion block turn the heat on and see if the hoses get hot. Are you trying the heat with the engine running or stealth mode ?

Stealth Mode, but its the same in sport. I did what you said, and noticed that heat actually does come out of the passenger's side vents. it's only the driver's side that is affected. So with car on in stealth mode, climate control turned to a high temp, heat comes out of passenger side vents and ambient temp air comes out of drivers side vents.

The Hvac unit is starting to have problems sometimes if you go from full cold to full hot and cycle the vent positions it might fix the problem worth the try.
Now if a lot of air is coming out of the defroster vents no mater where you set the vents then the HVAC unit has broken
