Hi,

Does the charger have a locking mechanism to prevent theft?

For example, if I am in a public parking lot and there is an outlet there to plug in. Can a person unplug your charger from the car's charging port and walk away?

If so, does anyone have a solution to prevent this from happening?

Yes, someone can unplug the charger and walk off with it. The easiest and cheapest option (i.e., free) is to roll one of your tires over the cord (not the charger itself, obviously) before you lock up your car. If you are not comfortable doing that, you can get a theft protection device like the one in this post..
