looks like a smart charger, never seen that one before, can anyone know this history behind this? is it branded?

I saw this one at last years Geneva auto salon where I've been invited to by the European importer.
If I remember right, it was supposed to be the next generation charger, but as far as i know, it never made it to Europe.
I think I got a tech description... Will have a look this afternoon.

I found the description.

It's named the Home Charge Device HCD 230V/16A (boring name, is it?)
Unfortunately, it's a German document, but the tech specs shoud be easy to understand.
If you have any particular questions, I could try to find/translate it for you.

The funniest part ist the price tag: 1990 Euros incl. tax, but without installation
