California Owners W/Warranty Settlement Question

10783 Views 38 Replies 17 Participants Last post by  Nin ja
So all original, California based owners who are part of the BK settlement, that took the warranty option:

Has anyone submitted receipts for work (by Loramax) and had any success with reimbursement? Calif. owners don't have many options regarding Fisker supported service and I just got hit with a bad cooling fan and AC system freon leak.

Thanks!

I hope there will be updates, probably in a new thread, of how it's going with submissions. I think the program came online literally a week ago (I got an email from Fisker Customer Service last week to this effect). I have work to be done, but it's not urgent, so I'm waiting until the kinks are worked out.
Let's keep this thread open for any new update
From what I heard fisker Palo Alto and Santa Monica ...NOT PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAM
There is about 200 car in California Probably they are looking for smaller scale repair shops EX engineers mechanics who are certified to work on the a123 batteries.
Fiskerphilly , Harleyguy since they are participating in the program
will be first to know about the new program..

Here is the reply from the New Fisker when I asked them about servicing the Karmas in California:

On behalf of the new company, we would like to sincerely thank you for being a Karma owner.

We are actively in the process of finding an established service provider in Southern California. As soon as we have an established service provider we will reach out to you directly to provide you the service provider location and contact information.

As we prepare for production in 2016, we are evaluating both our distribution channels and methods in preparation for re-launch. We look forward to expanding our global network and understand that increasing our service and supplier network is crucial to our success.

We will ensure to convey all product and retailer location updates via media channels and our developing website www.fiskerautomotive.com.

Also as I stated in another post, Lormax is in negotiation with a car service center in Corona that is looking to get into servicing the Karmas under the warrantee program.
Here is the note I just received .. The folks in Philly are just great, 195 mile drive from DX, but it's was a fun drive the last time I went up there ..

As Joe said the claim process takes time to submit and get the work approved also understand the car needs to be bought to a Fisker dealership . After the claim is approved Fisker ships the parts out to the dealers. If you need work done and the dealership submits the claim count on leaving the car there for at least five business days. If the dealership has the parts in stock they can op to install the parts they have in stock and get a reimbursement from Fisker or have the parts shipped providing Fisker has the parts in stock.
This the email i got from the new fisker when i asked on parts and service for the warranty

Thank you for your email and your VIN information.

Fisker parts can only be acquired through a Fisker Dealer.

Specific to a dealer location, there are still a select number of dealers that are in still in operation for service and parts.

You can try contacting Christos Giagtzoglou who is a technician at Fisker of Santa Monica. He may be able to order the parts you listed on your previous email.

His contact information is as follows:

Or me I'm authorized for repairs and parts .
I feel for you folks out in CA. I wish I could help out. All I can offer is info on the current system it is up and running and I've been working with them quite a bit on getting the claims processed when and if they go over the dollar limits it gets tricky and theyre using a modified version of their old warranty system which I'm real familiar with so I'm actually able to give them feedback and ins and outs.
Ive received my first warranty replacement parts order today so it is working. Just takes some time. About a week. Im trying to diagnose the cars and have them come back once the parts are in unless I have them in stock I can repair immediately.
Just an fyi for you guys and gals they are not paying for the diagnosis of a concern so there will be some costs involved in us finding the problems. Obviously if the mufflers cracked theres no diagnosis to be had but on the real challenges (check engine light, hv fault etc), we need to cover our time.
please understand that guys like Adam and I have kept our dealers open by convincing our owners that this car is worth the sacrifice. Many months our cost of operations have outweighed the income. Thats where you see the clear line of who stayed open for loyalty to the people and brand and those who closed for loyalty to the dollar.

Thank you Fisker philly

What the max dollar amount? Is it set to certain limit?

So heres the deal

All owners of a Karma get $2000 base warranty parts/labor any combination.

Original owners who didnt file as a claimant get base $2000 plus $3000 in parts and $2000 addl labor ($1500 FA/$500 dealer responsible) totalling $7000

Claimants get base $2000 plus addl $5000 parts and $3000 labor ($2000 FA/$1000 dealer responsible)totalling $10000.

Have at it...

Minus shipping cost owners have to pay for shipping of the parts so if you think you have $2000.00 for repairs you really have less .

Harlyguy, do you think that the work you did for me over the summer on the cooling fan will be covered by warranty? I never heard back from their contact form.
I wouldnt hold out for retroactive repair reimbursement. The customer support system is at infancy stage so Im not sure they're capable of being able to track reimbursements and theyd need to set limits like a start date to revert back to as it wouldn't be fair to reimburse some and not others without having a spredetermined policy. From what I've read in the policy it doesnt say anything about it.
for now, after seeing what some of the west coast customers are going thru, just be thankful you were able to get it fixed ala Harleyguy.
Thank you for sharing great info😀😀
Now are they selling the part discounted? Fisker price or with dealer margin?

Are they using new updated parts ?
Fixing old problems Like the soft spline rdm ,motor shafts ., bad batteries etc..
Is there warranty on the work and the parts they replace?

California Service

I received a similar E-Mail that SC Karma received. They did add "We are actively in the process of finding an established service provider location for California. In the interim, until we have a service provider location established in California, you can reach out to Blaise Flaherty at Fisker of Denver for questions and assistance". At least is getting a little closer. The last note I saw was to contact a dealership in Texas! I'm getting the feeling it is going to be a slow process.
