Is anyone else having an issue with crackling and noise when speaking on the bluetooth? I am using an iPhone 6, but the connection sounds awful. Thanks in advance!

I believe I am correct when I say that using a phone via Bluetooth connectivity has always been an issue with the Karma. I very quickly abandoned trying to speak on the phone over Bluetooth because there was so much crackling.

Here is a thread on the topic:

I agree with Weird Fishes, but my iPhone 6 is a lot worse than 5. I have tried turning done the phone volume but no difference.
Is your crackling something you're hearing? Or something that the people you're speaking to are saying is happening to your voice?
It's typically crackling from the speakers when you talk or the remote person talks. I sure hope one of the upgrades fixes this problem because between the crackling and the horrible echo problem, I never use the bluetooth other than for streaming music.
Mine sounds great to me in the car. @WATTGAS, you've called me 3-4 times while I was in my car ... Did it sound bad on your end? You sounded perfect on my end. I was wondering if it had more problems with Apple than Android (I have a Samsung phone). I also have a reasonably late VIN if that matters (2114).
Mine sounds fine to. I haven't heard anyone complain and I've asked. I also have a Samsung S5. Vin 1188
Maybe it's just a matter of having Inferno paint! :D

I had the same thought.;)
@JCMorrill, I will pay closer attention the next time we speak. My wife says the echo occurs when she calls me in the car. I've tried turning down the volume on my cell phone, but don't know if that helps with the echo problem or not. My phone is a Galaxy Note 4, but I've only had it a month. The crackling is consistent between my previous phone (Galaxy S4) and now my Note 4. My car is VIN 2204.

P.S. Your Inferno idea is nice, but unfortunately my car blows that theory out of the water. :-/
Gents, I use a BBZ10, I get the crackle in the car, the guy on the other end using his blue tooth gets real bad echoing. I have no issues listening to the music from my BBZ10. So I think the issue is feed back. There was a thread about six months ago where a Karma owner replaced the car speakers and microphone to get rid of the problem.

I have found that the volume setting on the phone makes a huge difference to the call quality. For best results, the volume setting on the phone should be as low as possible without completely muting the call. Using the car's volume control setting to amplify the sound does not appear to create the echo problem. This simple change significantly reduces the echo and makes the sound a lot more clear. Unfortunately, with most phones, you can only change the call volume during a call and you have to remember to do it as soon as the call is connected, but then the phone remembers the setting and you don't have to do it on subsequent calls.
I have the crackle also with my LUMIA 930 windows phone. I think it's only on the cars side because my wife told me the sound is very good on the other side.
