I don't know if it is relevant or not but that was the name of one of Christopher Columbus' Ships. The other two being the Pinta and the Santa Maria.SoCalGuy said:I've seen it capitalized a few times so I'm wondering if its an acronym for something... anyone know/have any ideas?
I recall seeing an interview with Henrik that suggested this was the impetus for the name. Nina is not an acronym AFAIKmarswill said:I don't know if it is relevant or not but that was the name of one of Christopher Columbus' Ships. The other two being the Pinta and the Santa Maria.
I like it. It's So Meta Even The Acronym...ct-fiskerbuzz said:Or one of the GNU folks' preferred "recursive acronyms": NINA Is Not an Acronym.
Saw that in an article I read on Friday - maybe its true =)[hr]ixtractm said:I don't know whether this is true or not, but I also thought I read somewhere that besides Nina beeing on of Columbus' ships, Nina is also Henrick Fisker's daughter's name. maybe someone could confirm that.

Also another one I thought of: Frontier. The Fisker Frontier sounds like a great name for the Nina.SoCalGuy said:Ah, thanks Dave for the insight. Wonder what the production name will be... Some names I've thought of: Gaia, California, Ethos, Aura, Sky, Sunrise, Passion, Earth, ...
I read that it was rumored to be the name of Henrik's daughter, but was later proven not to be.ixtractm said:I don't know whether this is true or not, but I also thought I read somewhere that besides Nina beeing on of Columbus' ships, Nina is also Henrick Fisker's daughter's name. maybe someone could confirm that.

Indeed, just a rumor. It definitely had nothing to do with Henrik's daughter's name. As I mentioned in my prior post, it was an idea from Vic Doolan as a reference to the "new world" Fisker was sailing into. This is a known fact, not hearsay. Now, on to the real name of the car...this should be interesting!matrix said:I read that it was rumored to be the name of Henrik's daughter, but was later proven not to be.
That would have been a good idea.kabalah70 said:Fisker should have a contest for the naming of the first Project Nina car, IMHO.
