Fisker Raises an Additional $150 Million (for Nina)
Fisker Automotive filed a report with the SEC stating that they have raised an additional $150 million USD from a group of private investors. This recent round of investment brings the total amount invested in Fisker to over a billion USD, all before the new company has sold a single electric car.
Sources say this new fund will be used exclusively for the Project Nina cars being developed by Fisker. Due out in late 2012 the Project Nina cars will be more affordable mass market electric vehicles starting at between $40,000 and $50,000, most analysts think that the sub-$40,000 price bracket is the “sweet spot” for the electric car industry and it is a price point many of the market players are working hard to hit.
