Close to purchasing a 2012 Fisker Karma

I am close to purchasing a 2012 Fisker Karma Ecosport Sedan with 7,000 miles in mint condition. I have the Carfax.com and know it had 2 local previous owners. What questions, research, etc. should I be asking and doing before I write the check? I absolutely love the look and design of the car. I am concerned with the history of the company and some of the problems with the cars. I want to try to make sure that I am not getting involved in a total ownership/maintenance black hole situation.

these threads are frequently posted here....

Please post all known history, vin number etc of the vehicle. If you ask questions that are anonymous with no data how can anyone give you a valid response?

As Simon @shrowell suggested, read this post and the linked threads in it first. It will answer a lot of your basic questions. If you need specific information for the car you you are considering, what @PowerSource said would make it a lot easier to get an accurate answer.

The above vehicle that I am considering purchasing in Cleveland,Ohio suburbs has a VIN ending in 000312. Per a CARFAX Ownership history, Personal Owner ONE owned the car for 9 months and put about 4,000 miles on the car. Car was in dealer inventory until 6/30/14 with about 5,000 miles. Owner TWO purchased the car 6/30/14 and held the car 3 years until 7/27/17 with 5,875 miles. I do not have CARFAX data for 7/27/17 to 10/7/17.Ttotal milage is now about 7,100 miles and car is for sale from a BMW dealers lot. Does this info generate any red flags data that i should consider before purchase? Thanks.

You need full VIN numbers in order to check cars history

I was not able to purchase the car. There was a deal in process that closed to a real estate buyer (that travels to England) that closed before I got a chance to buy it. I quess it wasn't meant to be. I think the BMW dealership that I was/am dealing with has sold 2 or 3 Fiskers. I have my mint condition 2008 BMW 750I (with 33,00 miles) maintenance work done there. They also had a 2008 Maserati (sold), and a Mustang Shelby for sale also. Maybe they will get another one in for sale. Did you all buy your Fiskers directly online, thru a dealership, etc? Till then, regards.

I have certified preowned (possibly the only ones in the country) with 2 year unlimited mileage bumper to bumper factory warranty and 10-20k in upgrades done to them. Just got done a gorgeous signature car #13 brand new HV battery, new RDM and motors only 3k miles on it.
